They are probably keeping Bordeleau to drop the gloves , if we need to . We tried Cody Mcleod for a few seasons now and i dont think many players are scare to fight him .

I'm waiting for the first game that Trollver decides to run over a goalie, and Bordeleau comes out of nowhere to clean someones clock. They could be the most hilarious on ice duo the Avs have ever had.

The goals scored against could be slightly less priceless while that trio is on the ice.

Yeah, he's a pretty awful fighter. There are inflatable weebles more stable than the Highlander is on his skates.

I doubt they see the ice much. I also think this means the 3rd line won't see much ice either.

I figure something along these lines.

Stastny line - 23 mins
Duchene line 22 mins
Hejduk line - 10 mins
Olver line - 5 mins

That means Jones is on the ice for 23 minutes a night... At what point does he hurt more than help?

To bad ANA probably wouldn't take Jones + Cond 2nd/1st for Perry at the deadline. I can't honestly say I would cry that hard if we lost Jones for nothing.

well with Downie and Hejduk on the 3rd line I suspect if any of the top 6 are struggling those two would see more ice time during a game.

Actually, I suspect Trollver will play on the third line with mitchell on the fourth.

Yeah, I hope Jones starts out kind of hot so we can trade him. From what I have seen posted Jones has looked like a pilon compared to McGinn & Stastny in camp.

Olver shouldn't be the 3rd line center unless he has really improved on faceoffs.

Need this guy back....

There aren't enough question marks on this roster for it to take this long to figure out.
And Bordeleau making the team has what to do with the team announcing the roster a few hours after their last practice? Nothing! The team had to make decisions on who to keep, then they had to tell the players who made it and who didn't make it, and then they had to formalize a public announcement. This is standard operating procedure.

None of this is out of the ordinary and none of this meant squat when it comes to O'Reilly signing or being traded. People were jumping the gun over nothing today.

Mike Chambers is possibly the worst writer I've seen. None of his story actually have any substance to them, he's good at writing stuff that gives no information what so ever.

While I would agree with you on your statement here, as I was someone who "jumped the gun" today so to speak, I'm resigned to believe what TwoPadStack said.

I believe that the longer O'Reilly stays unsigned, the more likely he will be traded.

I believe that the likelihood of that increases once games start. Because whether we like it or not, once the games start, it becomes even more serious to the Avalanche that he's not there in my opinion, especially in this shortened season.

Obviously they would have preferred to have him signed before this happened, as I'm sure that O'Reilly would have preferred to have been signed to a contract before this all went down. But once he starts missing games, beyond a shadow of a doubt in my mind the Avalanche will look to move him.

Whether that means allowing a team that is interested in trading for him having some sort of negotiation period with him or some other arrangement would remain to be seen.

It saddens me, Ryan is one of my favorite players just based on his work ethic alone. I think we as posters are too attached to the Logo on the front of the chest (as to be expected) that we forget that Professional Sports are not the same today that they were 20+ years ago. Whether we like it or not it's a Multi-Billion dollar industry (not just the NHL but all Pro Sports).

This game is their job, but not who they are. Ryan, whether he stays with us, or goes elsewhere, will continue to put into his job what he hopes to get out of it. I have no doubt that he will continue to be that "first one in, last one out" player that he has been with the Avalanche. But like anyone would do in their profession, if you work as hard as Ryan has, and your performance reflects your hard work with positive results, then you're going to feel that you should be paid accordingly. I'm not saying that Ryan is or is not within his rights to do this, but just stating that as many others would do in a similar situation, he's wanting what he feels he's worth.
