ugh...dont get me wrong, i love the initiative shown, but nothing pissed me off more than my gf's alerts when i was watching a DVR'd game. 'oh dont worry martyowns, elias scores in about a half hour.' punch to the faaaaaaace
She actually loves sports, so she knows better than this... I hope...
I have the 4s and even though I love it, the battery life leaves something to be desired.
There's a lot of factors that go into how long your battery lasts:
-Brightness
-Wifi and Bluetooth on/off
-Notifications
-Push/Fetch e-mails
-Location Services
If you lower or turn off some of these, you should see a fair increase in your battery life. Admittedly, my 5 hasn't been the best in terms of battery life, but I'm hoping a few charging cycles will help it.

Oh yes, I've turned and toggled quite a few things with which have helped tremendously. The worst is if there is no signal. I swear it drops 20% in fifteen minutes.

This. I definitely think that a phone constantly searching for a signal or attempting to maintain a good one (3G or LTE) in a bad coverage area is a huge factor on the battery.
It's funny because I've read that LTE actually saves battery when using data, but when it tries to maintain or find a signal the battery takes a big hit.

That's because its searching for a signal.
If you had an Android, you could root and change the scan intervals...

I bought myself one of those Mophie self-charging cases. Do not purchase. The thing was great for about a month. Its big and protects your phone but at the sacrifice of its functionality. Drop it once and it never works again.

Yeah, I've heard charging cases aren't the best in terms of protection.
I don't know how dependable these are, but maybe you could look into them since it's portable and you can plug it into any USB port/charger:
I have the 5, I can't wait till these guys come out with this. They made a kickstarter and surpassed their goal in December, so I'm hoping they start shipping soon.

I never mentioned what phone I have. And I included a sarcasm tag. And I wasn't really even preachy about it this time. I like the iPhone/iPad for most people, they're easy as **** to use.
Also, don't forget blue boy, I can still thread ban you...
