Shroeder needs to be tested. Protected minutes in camp would be a bad. Even though I'm not an Ebbett fan, He did play well when given the chance. Better than most give him credit for. Still hoping Shroeder makes it, but we'll see
And I think the media has made a big deal of this Centre issue. Will Shroeder get 2nd line C? - I doubt it, even if he makes the team. Lappy was trusted with Dank's minutes on the 1st line last season and produced. I have little doubt that Lappy starts in the 2-hole, and Ebbet/Shroeder eased in at #3. His NHL play has earned it over journeyman Ebbett and a green rookie. Maybe not the best type of #2C, but I'm sticking with Lappy until I'm proven wrong.
And I'm encouraged by Lappy first dropping the gloves more, and then this camp has beefed up a bit. The guy is dedicated.

I think for the moment we'll keep him not because we'd risk exposing him to waivers, but so we have 13 forwards up with the team in case of injury.
Somebody mentioned on twitter yesterday that the team is considering going with 12 F and 9 D... Honestly, I really hope that Schroeder sticks. This is the best chance for them to give him a shot at the NHL, especially after they told him in last year's exit meetings that he deserved a call-up and didn't get one only due to circumstances.
