I completely disagree with you. I for one think the lockout job jokes were boring before the lockout was over and most likely another team will do the same thing with the exact same jokes with THEIR players in instead. The jokes are almost all completely random. For every Paul Martin Egg Chef with some actually cleverness there will be 10 completely stupid porn star or fry cook photoshops. If you want obvious, its lockout jobs.

And honestly, when is the last time you heard someone mention the phrase Bo Knows before Bennett became relevant here? A long time. The joke is the call back to such a huge saying from such a huge star for some kid who doesn't even spell his name the same way and who wasn't even alive when Bo was actually knowing things. Cliche? Again, when's the last time someone mentioned the phrase Bo Knows? Seriously I'm not sure if you understand what a cliche is.

We do agree on borat impressions though. they are call of duty on a sports page lame.

I have to completely disagree.

With the 30 for 30 on Bo a few months ago, people remember "Bo Knows..." again.

Also, you just know about 5 teams are gonna do lockout avis. I don't want to be the 6th.

I don't think we could have been much different on our thoughts about last year's avys...but I'm with you here on everything.

And that 30 for 30 on Bo was great...I highly suggest everyone watch that (it's on Netflix).

I don't think Beau Knows is the best idea ever like some people, but it is something that no one else has done, it's something that I feel we can only do with Beau being a rookie, and it's a palate that allows for a lot of creativity.

One thing I would say about MrBurgandy's avy is that I'd change the font and colorization. That's going to be next to impossible to read for anything longer than what it says now.

Like the Avi Mr. Burgandy has up, stay classy my friend. I think the slide could work either way with Beau going first or second.

As for the shirtless thing, eh. I mean i wasnt here last year to know the avis, but the years before I was and we had some damn good ones. Hoping we can get a standard one and if you're in go with it, if not keep your current avi. The slightly shirtless Beau is comical though, especially if it makes people uncomfortable. I greatly enjoy laughing at those made uneasy by such things. Great example is The Office episode where Michael Scott outted Oscar and then kissed him, hilarious! But this is just one mans opinion.

Then come up with something better, instead of telling us a third time you think it sucks. Follow the path of Burgundy and IHWR and make something in your own and post it. Just make sure it's clothed.

(BTW I am embarrassed to admit, it was more than 20 years ago. Much closer to 30. I should know; I was one of the people Nike was targeting with those ads. )

Sometimes I don't have an idea and I just start building it in photoshop. If it's not working or just getting dumb I usually just scrap it all together and start over. But I had to post this one...

Ha. That's ridiculous.

Like the Angry Sid "No" panel. You should just simplify it.

Will Sid Accept Defeat?

No.

Does Sid Need Corey Perry?

No.

Is Sid Slowed By Undrafted Players?

No.

Does Sid Forgive Giroux's Crying?

No.

Does Sid Care About Your Opinion?

No.

What could be a bigger troll of HFB haters than every one of us having a Sid avatar?

Well, with that approach IHWR could show Sid without his shirt on.

I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing.

Random 2cents:

1. I don't really get the "Beau knows" thing on the cultural level, but that's because I am not American and look at all the ****s I don't give about baseball. I do like the part were we get to be excited about a rookie though.

2. The shirtlessness in the "Beau knows" slide is getting overstated. The problem was with "shirts off" being supposed to be the clever part, because it wasn't clever. If Shirtlessness that isn't even anywhere near to being the central point of the theme makes you uncomfortable, that really isn't a problem with the theme. /girl opinion

3. As an already admitted "Bo knows" ignoramus, I enjoy the "sassy Sid says no" thing a lot. As other fanbases do probably get their hackles up less at Bennett than Crosby though, it does have some room to backfire. I am still LOLing hard everytime someone ironicly says "rookie mistake" when Couturier turns it over or "six goalie system" when NYR get blown out now in hindsight.

Also baseball is not a sport. It's a coping mechanism for bored actuaries and out-of-work calculators.

1. Ha ha fair enough, but he also played the American Footballs!

2. Excellent point, the use of the shirtless fellow is the actual Bo Jackson and is one of his iconic images and the talented ones here are changing it to our Beau with hilarious results.

3. The new Sid one has promise.

Nah, baseball is a way for a billionaire a couple times over to make about $20 million per year in walking around money.

Keep in mind the amount of work needed to create/photoshop and who will be willing or able to do that...Penguins books never got off the ground last year because no one actually made the avatars.

Beau Knows -- rough draft of one started
Crosby yes/no, Pick a Number -- rough drafts/examples already made

Lockout jobs -- no rough draft; would be a lot of photoshopping, would need to find player pictures that work...who would do it?
Sock monkeys -- no rough draft; again there'd be photoshopping involved (if it's the players' faces on the monkeys), although if one is made for each player it may end up being simpler than the other ideas (no personalization, just pick the player you want).

What other ideas were there?...don't feel like looking...

PSHHHHhh, I get paid for my ideas and creativity! I don't work for free!

But, in all honesty I've been so busy with work I don't really have any time to commit to thinking about anything, nor do I really care that much about the playoff avatars.

Just saying that I think that all the ideas pretty much blow so far, some just less than others.
