If Calgary loses both of the next two games, and Carolina, Edmonton, and Nashville each win one game, Calgary's picking fourth. Third if Tampa wins both games.

28 - Tampa Bay(40): BOS, FLA

I think Calgary also beats everyone in a tiebreaker as we have all of our wins in regulation.
I can't see that pathetic franchise up north beating either Minny or Van. I see the Rangers coming out with their best game of the season after losing against FLD... Don't expect Carolina to pick up any points... NSH is playing two teams fighting for 8th...

Ughhh...

I actually watched some of the Edm/Chi game last night, and holy crap are they ever a bad team. Like, depressingly bad. This scoreboard watching is driving me nuts.

Yeah, will all the scoreboard watching I put the game on for about ten minutes, I don't even think there's a word to describe how pathetic Edmonton's play is.

I don't expect us to be picking any higher than 6th. The teams below us are terrible, or currently playing terrible.

Would anyone be against picking Nurse? I think we could use a tough defenseman on the back end.

I like him but...

Look at the centers in our range

Barkov, Lindholm, Monahan. A #1 C is our biggest need. Im hoping we finally fill it.

I'd prefer a forward, preferably center.

One of Jones, Mac, Drouin, Monahan, Barkov, Lindholm will hopefully be ours pending draft positions.

Honestly, nothing against nurse but I would be pretty bummed if calgary picked him above one of the stud centres like monahan or lindholm. If both of them are off the board then sure pick up nurse, but otherwise I think you hit the hole we've had longest.

By all indication, from the people I've talked to, my own opinion, and my one in; in the league. Carolina will draft a D-man this year. They will be the team that steps up and grabs either Nurse or one of the two Europeans.

It would be okay with Nurse, but if we move down to 4th, I'd rather hope for if Drouin/MacKinnon somehow by the grace of God slipped, or just go ahead and draft Barkov. However, if the top 4 are off the table (say we pick 7th) and then Lindholm/Monahan drop after... I'd be all for Nurse, however, if Lindholm or Monahan are on the table, I prefer those guys.

It would be funny if Edmonton or Winnipeg won the lottery and got Jones. Put a cramp in Jay-Z's marketing

I'd love to have Nurse, just not with our 1st.

So by the bye.....

Past draft lottery longshot winners:

1995- LA wins from 8th spot

1999- Chicago wins from 8th spot

2011- Jersey wins from 8th spot

These winners could only move up 4 spots max but the fact remains that they won with only a 3.6% chance going in. (I think Rolling Eyes )

This year of course the winner moves to first overall.

So if I understand things correctly, our first round picks should be:
Flames first: Projected #1 Center
Blues first: Projected top 4(?) D-man
Pens first: Projected top 6 right winger

Correct?

Sounds perfect to me, but everything could change depending on factors which are impossible to foresee at this point. Trades, players dropping in the rankings, etc.

Definitely not. Stick to the list. Best talent available. They can go by position on July 1

I think it's more of a "here's what we hope is available as the best player." That's how I treat it, anyway.
