Seriously, those who are pinning their hopes on a GJ ownership must now be questioning his intent if he is willing to forego the beginning of his dream! Both MH and the Ice clowns found time to nourish their desires and dreams by attending games, even buying homes in the area! Gramps has shown no inclination that he has any interest in bonding with the fans, the community and the corporations who will be your suite buyers! If his intent is to buy this franchise, why is he not out front with all of these groups ginning up support and interest when he finally pulls the trigger? Said another way, if you are one of his supposed investors would you not want to see your titular head out promoting your ownership bid? If I am an investor and I see this guy begging me for money, yet he has no visibility in the hockey scene, I say," no sorry Gramps."

Question now is how is he going to bow out of this failed process? Or is that up to GB?

The NHL will NEVER take responsibility for the failure of any Coyotes deal, either the COG or gramps Jamison get's to fall on the knife.

It's a shame that Jamison couldn't secure investors to buy him a ticket last night.

No, but Ms. Clarke sure knows how to score free tickets to Yotes games

Arena negotiations in Edmonton are going nicely, thank you very much.

Bettman, Katz, Mandel and the City of Edmonton had negotiations last week.

Maybe we should re-post her tweets, one thanking someone for the gratis tickets for her group and the other wondering where Jamison was, guess she was as surprised as everyone else when the guy who will receive over a third of a $billion from the COG couldn't even be bothered to attend the home opener.

One, don't knock until you try it. You might find the experience liberating. Your cares just melt away. You can stop obsessing about far away places that have no impact on you. It really did wonders for me.

Two, I'm a Phoenician, man. I don't need family to be concerned in my affairs. I've got a whole bunch of folks up in Winnipeg to handle that for them.

Yeah, that sounds like alcoholism, something which I'm not willing to try. But if it makes you feel better, knock yourself out.

I don't live in Winnipeg. Plus, the good folks in QC are also concerned about you and your team

It all started with that Vodka ticket promotion. Then, it was dollar beer nights. The Coyotes are my enablers.

semantics and corporate structuring aside, i don't think there is a single human being in the world that would agree with you that the leafs were not sold during this period.

I don't blame the consumers at all. I'm just separating fact from opinion. The fact is Glendale/Phoenix is not a viable market for the NHL product.

Now, whether the market could become viable in the future is a matter of opinion. It is my opinion that the market cannot become viable, mainly due to: median income level; low rate of disposable income growth; lack of corporate inventory; over saturation of sports entertainment; competition with established sports entertainment brands; over saturation of arena venues; exhausted premium seat/suites; ticket price point.

I think the Rechtschaffen study and other resources can speak more to those points. With them in mind, I cannot help but to be extremely skeptical of the notion that playing in the conf finals and ramping up a marketing department can somehow cure all of those critical shortcomings. Considering that every competent investor in North America has had a crack at this now - and they've all come to the same conclusion - I feel rather resolute in my opinion. I do understand the concept of "hockey is a great sport so it can thrive anywhere" and in a vacuum, perhaps it's even true. But in the NHL business model, the team has to keep relative pace with revenues generated by Toronto, New York, Vancouver, et al. Revenue sharing fills a portion of the void but not even close to the amount needed to make a market like Phoenix tenable.

On the opposite side, Ice Edge, Hulsizer, and Jamison have held the opinion that the market can be viable in the future. Careful with the company you keep, you may be judged by it
