Same agency but different agents. No doubt the strategy is the same.

Could see an Oreilly/Subban swap in the coming weeks if things remain status quo for both sides.

Avs fans have mixed opinions on Subban, some would be fine with trading for him, others wouldn't. Personally I wouldn't mind it.

We don't want Gagner, Hemsky will never make it through a season and a playoffs, and a second isn't really gonna cut it.

Great!

I think fans have experienced enough excitement and brinkmanship for one season.

As someone has already said, the quicker this is over the better.

how does that help either team?
if both are unsigned why would they trade them for one another? just to start negotiations over? besides, they both have the same agency so essentially you're back to square one with a new player and their respective agent.

Also, Oreilly is in a different situation. Isnt he off in europe getting money thrown at him to not come back? not like he'd lose a year, so thats a whole new headache to add that PK's situation does not have

and you're not getting subban for just oreilly
i really dont see how what you're saying is even an afterthought to either gm

You don't need to make offers for Gomez anymore, he is UFA.

It fills a huge need for the Avs while to doing nothing for Montreal. ROR isn't a number one so why would we trade for him when we already have Plek and DD has amazing chemistry with our top wingers and is on a great deal? If PK were going to COL I would want Landeskog +. I know Avs fans don't want to hear that but that would be the starting point for most Habs fans.

Most Avs fans don't want to trade for Subban. It seems quite a few of them have completely lost their heads and all they want now is to switch our negotiation problem for other teams negotiation problems. We've had O'Reilly for Kulikov/Subban/Benn proposals coming from Avs fans all week long.

If Avs were interested in overpaying a player, why not overpay our own that fits the team perfectly instead of trading for a player and overpay him?

100% agree. I don't want PK moved, I was just responding to the proposal made by the other poster.

If the offer is a Late 1st + Good younger 2nd line powerforward, I'd much rather have Subban.

If Philly seriously proposed that I would have asked if Kaberle + a 2nd for Couturier would fix their D problems. Talbot + very late 1st would be horrible value for a young number 1 D.

PK acting childish here. Needs to sign a 1 year deal and get back skating. Not going to do himself any favours by not playing and showcasing himself.

Yeah, definitely a child. This guy thinks he's bigger than the team. He's the only holdout ever, right?

Not the only one, just the most arrogant. Needs a good healthy dose of modesty.

That package used to be the equivalent of a bag of pucks not so long ago :S

There is only one scenario for PK and that's signing with the Habs. Both sides want to reach an agreement and in the end they will, I just think it sucks it's taking so long for either side to budge.

Arrogant in life in general. Don't like him one bit. Not nearly as amazing as he (and habs fans) think he is. He's above average, but he's not worth a 7 year, $50+ million deal.

Why would we want O'Reilly? He's a great player and all, but has no place on the Habs. Moreover, you'd be adding a significant plus. Value wise, you'd need to give up Duchene+ in my opinion. Both are high risk-high reward, however Subban is much less of a risk with about as high of potential reward, in my humble opinion.

Isn't he just the most classless player in the league?
