Me either I google'd him and pretty got nothing noticeable. Think this requires some more digging to find out if this is a good hire or not.

I guess the thinking is that he knows a 3-4 pretty well. I don't object to switching to a 3-4 at all, so if this guys knows his schemes and blitzes and whatever else is out there, I am cool with it. All good coaches start somewhere...right?

Cleveland has had a pretty good defense for the past few years I think. I like the hire.

They were ripping this dude on WIP this morning. Apparently he has had like a new job every two years or something. Half the league has fired him from various positions. That is not all that encouraging (however, WIP always overreacts).

yes clevelands d has been good

they need a de-olb to play opposite sheard. i can see them looking at werner, but if i was them i would take ansah. that guy is a freaky athlete. just wait and see what reid does in kc. if he trades for alex smith then yah they will go joekel at 1. if not them i can see him grabbing geno smith. that would leave joekel for the eagles. then man, you guys would have a very good o-line. then in round 2, grab the nt. jesse williams from bama or mt. jenkins from georgia. fletcher cox at de, would look pretty sexy. curry-graham at olb.

Eh, Kelly hates QBs that throw interceptions. Vick will be on a short leash and if he throw interceptions like he has the past two years, Kelly won't care, he will bench him.

Kelly will probably go with Foles anyway since he raved about him while at Arizona

To me this means they are not in love with Foles. If they bring in the QB from Baltimore this really closes the deal on him. Cannot understand why vick would do this. The dude does not have that many years left in the tank but I am not his advisors or his agent. Maybe this is a ploy so he can be moved. Who knows? But my money is that he is not on the opening day roster! The guy is one hit away from being a vegtable. This franchise always cracks me up. I guess now they will keep nambi and drc Stay tuned for more on Comedy Central

I'm not a Vick fan at all but he deserves credit for agreeing to this.

Why wouldn't Vick agree to this? He's getting paid like $10M (which is the upper end of what he could've expected as a free agent methinks). And on top of that, he's on a 1 year deal and he gets to play for one of the most explosive offensive coaches in an offense that is much better suited to his skills.

This was a smart decision from him. He gets to play in the perfect offense with an offensive genius of a coach and then next year he gets to hit free agency again; his free agent value could be astronomical this time next yr.

My entire family hates Vick for multiple reasons. My dad already called me screaming over the phone about this.

He could make up to $10M which he'll have to perform to get that much money with the clauses. I imagine one of them is playing 16 games (which won't happen).

His salary for this year was 15.5 million and about the same for the next two yrs. He took less money this year and essentially throws away the next two years of his original contract.

If he didn't agree to this he was going to get his ass cut.

That's why he deserves credit.

Not following why he deserves credit for doing a no brainer on his part.

Uhm, what? That doesn't mean he deserves credit, whatsoever. He was forced to do it, or else he would've been cut and he knows it.

Terrible idea. I think Vick is going actually do ok in this offense. I see them winning 8 games or so (in other words, sucking but not sucking enough to get a good pick). I am not at all happy with this.

The fact of the matter is Vick agreed to a lesser deal to prove he could be the eagles QB. If the eagles cut him, he was going to get a multiple year deal with another team.

Clowney would be my pick. He's a rare rare talent. Once in a decade like talent. Seeing him in a 3-4 lining up opposite a guy like Jones, Moore, or Mingo would be an awesome foundation to any defense. If you could line up two guys like that, no matter who you line up around them, that's got the making of a special defense.

If Kelly goes full blown option, Bridgewater isn't a complete fit. He's a good athlete, not a great one and he's pretty much a pocket passer now. He was a 4.6 guy coming out of high school, but between putting on 40+ pounds and the injuries, he's not quite as explosive. He is a heck of a passer at this point in his career. As much a I don't think Manziel will be a good NFL QB, he would be a great QB in Kelly's hypothetical system. Not to mention Kelly recruited him and he was committed to Oregon before switching to A&M.

Thomas only had 56 rush attempts last year. This "Kelly" system has changed over the years depending on the QB he's had. 127-121-56 rushing attempts by the QB. Not sure how many of those were designed rushing plays the QB though. I think Kelly could make Bridgewater work here. But I agree if Clowney was available I would totally snatch him up, he's a monster.
