Young Goalie for the Leafs?

With this season being a wash and next season being Belfour's last year of his 2-year deal who could the Leafs pick-up relatively cheap? I had thought of a few different goalies that they could pick-up in the waiver draft at the beginning of next season. (Maybe from buffalo or Minnesota?) Also, who could be trade possibilities?

Well the Leafs did sign J.S Aubin to a PTO with the Baby Leafs and rather than picking up a goalie of the waiver wire I think they will sign him.. As for Trade If the Leafs want a young goalie.. Martin Biron but it doesn't help both teams being in the same division.

Is this a trick question? Define 'young goalie for the Leafs', I mean 30y old is pretty young to them...

Well How old is Eddie Belfour now anyways?.........I think he's going on 40 now right?................How about Nicoli Khabibulin of the Bolts?........He's only 32-years old.....8 full years younger than Eddie...........that's the guy I would go after.

Too much bling under a hard cap. To be honest I'd toss McCabe at the Sabres and see if we could get Noronen.

A salary dump as well as a young goalie. It just makes too much sense. I'm sure the Leafs would have to pay half the contract of McCabe though

Noronen sucks. I'd rather get Biron or Miller back if I were to trade with Buffalo.

If I'm Montreal I don't touch that deal, I might be overrating Theodore but I think he has higher value than just a mid to late first.

I think it may work. If the Habs are willing to move their goalie, and there is a cap 6 mill for a decent goalie is pretty high. Not to mention he is the highest paid player in Habs history.

Just checked, he becomes a UFA in the offseason.

Hell no... Trades between 2 divisional rivals are pretty rare anyways. But to trade your no.1 goalie to your divisional rival when you have no one to fill that role would be quite... well not bright. And I doubt that Toronto's first round pick would be higher than the 20th choice, so maybe I'm overrating the value of Theodore, but I would not consider it at all...
But maybe that's just me.

No you're not overrating Theodores value at all. He's worth a lot more than that.

Let's see hmm..a young goalie for the Leafs ...oh how 'bout Ken Dryden? Hey he can work on his liberal escapades on his downtime!
