Remembering Game 7s

One of my fondest memories (and it was a long time ago) was a Game 7 in the early 90s when Andy Moog shut out the Canadiens 1-0. Don't remember many more details except that it was in the Neely, Bourque days and the Garden was hot and steamy.

What Game 7s are engraved in your brain?

Obviously, the 3 in 2011, all fondly.

Sadly, 2004 against the Habs, Walker in OT, 3-0, Ward in OT. There aren't a lot of good Game 7 memories outside of that one year.

1994 against Montreal was a fun one, back in the days when the B's beating the Habs was an annual playoff routine. They were the defending Cup champs (although largely via fluke - the B's & Pens were by far the two best teams in 1993 and both were upset before they faced the Habs) and Moog outdueled Roy in the Garden. Up 2-0 on the Devils and then Brodeur went nuts.

In no order:

June 15, 2011 - simply the best!

May 10 1979 was tough. Had the Habs right where we wanted them and for a 9 year old, it was heaven..........for awhile.

1982 vs Quebec and O'Reilly hitting Van Hellmond (that ass!) was tough. Mike Moffat was our rookie sensation in nets but it didn't last

1983 vs Buffalo - Park! Brad Park!!!!

2010 vs Philly was BS and made me vomit

1992 vs Buffalo, Dave Reid scores late. Beauty!

1988 vs New Jersey - Janney played a great game and Reggie stole the show with a save that would make Reimer look like a road hockey goalie

Tampa in 2011 was the best in recent years. Overall great game where both teams played well.

Of course the Vancouver one won the cup.

And the Habs one was the bruins beating the Habs.

So 2011 was great.

To this day, that goal, and Sturm's game 6 goal are the loudest I've heard the garden. Wowza that was a fun series (despite the outcome)

2011.

The rest under this core have been painful.

But this is the first one that will bring them back to .500% and 4-4!

I believe in the Boston Bruins.

i refuse to go to any game 7s anymore.
ive been to
game 7 04 loss
game 7 09 loss
game 7 '10 loss
game 7 '12 loss

only game 7 ive been to that they won was tampa in the ecf. (i sold game 7 mtl)
And the funny thing is i was in the bathroom taking a piss when horton scored the only goal. There were litterally only 2 other guys in the bathroom. And that was the only time i left my seat all game. I am the game 7 jinx.

good thing i didnt renew this year. So they may win tonite.

as for the best game 7, obviously tampa, even though i missed the only goal.
worst one was probably the carolina game 7 ot. it just hurt the most because we still hadnt won a cup.

It's only May 13th though! So maybe that's a good sign. If this game were tomorrow night, I'd be a little more concerned.

Good memories of 2011 that's for sure

But I'm going to be honest, this series is really reminding me of all the games 7 loss we have suffered in recent years against Montreal, Carolina, Philly and Washington

carbon friggin copy

you can count on the same result tonite the way its been going.
outplay the leafs through 2 periods.

score 0-0.
Leafs score halfway through the 3rd on a blown defensive coverage. Then they ice it on an empty netter.
2004 all over again.
ugh. I dont even think im watching tonite.

Well...this moves to the top of my list.

I was in "offseason mode" with about 14 minutes left. Needed a drink.

Now, after the game, I decided to have a few drinks.

UNBELIEVABLE!

I had the privilege of being at both those games. Unreal atmospheres. I look at those two games and that series in general as a turning point for this franchise and the series that put Bruins hockey back on the map even though they lost in 7.

I love the fact that I got to celebrate this one with the real diehards after all the quitters left the Garden in order to beat the rush home.

Warm Sam Adams = 8.00
Cheap souvenir towel that almost cost a DOG penalty = .43 cents
Watching the greatest comeback in a game 7 unfold right in front of me = priceless.

I was a Houston Oilers fan when they lost to the Bills over 20 years ago, the gods have finally paid me back for that loss.

Thank you baby Jesus, and the power of B.C., Neely and Lucic.

In the last thread, my buddy and me, Neely and Lucic jerseys won us this round, we take Sam Adams and whatever beers for the win.

Game 7 1988 against the Devils. Best seats I ever had, about a row right of the redline in the real Garden.

Devils won the face off, cycled into their zone, sprung a winger, and Neely did this to him. Go to 00:15

Guy was in full flight, and Neely got him w/ his hip. I'd never seen someone moving that fast literally knocked backward despite all that forward momentum. Neely didn't miss a step. Anyway, after that hit, you knew the B's were going to win, and did. And, they went to finals. They were underdogs all the way, total euphoria.

This Game 7 definitely makes up for two that were badly engraved in my mind in the past - 2004 blowing a 3-1 series lead and the infamous blowing a 3-0 goal/3-0 series lead against the Flyers.

It was by far the best Game 7 I've been at. It makes those not so great Game 7s a little less bitter now.
