That's not Bogosian. I thought that was Brendan Smith, lol.

or Nyquist, isn't he like Zetterberg 2.0?

Is this a joke? It must be a joke. This whole thread is a joke. The Jets aren't trading their best defenceman, who is 23 years old, has almost unlimited potential and loves playing in Winnipeg. And if management somehow deems him expendable for some insane reason, the asking price is not even going to start with Gustav Nyquist.

If your post is serious, it is downright offensive to those of us who watch hockey.

Ya a guy that plays 23 minutes a night is being overrated more than a guy who is older, a forward and has 18 NHL games under his belt.

From Detroit's point of view, I'd much rather have Bouwmeester plus those guys we didn't have to trade away for Bogosian.

I wouldnt be so quick. A lot of people have Nyqvist challenging for ROY.

I'd like to chime in with a 3 way....

To WPG

JVR
Franson

To Det
BOGO
Colborne

To TOR
Nyqvist
Jarnkrok

It's probably Smith + Nyqvist + 1st, makes no sense for Winnipeg to ask for anything less unless I'm missing something that happened with him.
I was thinking more along the lines of Nyquist, Tatar, Jarnkrok,Smith, Ouellet and Sproul and I think 2 1st round picks would be fair, yea?

Holy ****. I didn't know Toronto could screw Detroit and Winnipeg at the same time.

So Winnipeg gives up its young star defenceman who still hasn't reached full potential for JVR, a winger which is one of the Jets strongest areas and Franson, who is nice but would not even be close to compensating for Bogo's loss. He would be a bottom pairing dman on the Jets, easily.

Don't be surprised if Jets fans don't like this one one bit. As an Oiler fan living in the Peg, I can definitely see why. Wayyyy too little coming in return for what is being given.

A local reporter posted a "rumor" of a favorable trade to his local team. It isn't exactly new or shocking, people shouldn't take it any more seriously than an Eklund rumor.

That explains it. What a god awful trade proposal.

and over what? Yeah, you get an upgrade on RD, but you might be able to sign one this offseason. Is one potentially bad season good enough reason to tear it all down? What are we, the Leafs?
THIS - basically hit the nail on the head.

Detroit overvalues their own prospects - likely
But this is the show time, Nyquist and Smith are basically NHL ready today. Very surprised if they do not make the team this year. THEN we will see how good they are. The way the wings develop their picks, honestly we can likely get more out of these players than anyone else.

I honestly do not expect Holland to make any kind of significant trade with a known prospect or main stay player on our team. It is time to see how all these players do at the NHL level. In a year or so, if they all bomb, that is when we will be pulling trades.

I think the Jets are in a similar position. Most of their key players are young <28 years old. I do not think they want to give up on any of them. If they were to trade someone, it would be someone 30+ (Hainsey maybe, Antropov, maybe wellwood; and then likely signing players and get more picks, and then maybe trade picks or very young prospects for younger players)

I just don't buy EITHER of these teams in moving Nyquist or Bogo.
I think the holes adressed by these players not being traded could easily be replaced (Sheifele and Smith) in WPG and DET organizations

Going to take a bit more than Nyquist to get Bogosian out of Winnipeg.

At the end of the day, I doubt Detroit waited five years on Nyquist to trade him away right before he hits the team.

Especially if they're so high up on the prospect.

Screw off Detroit, this has Ottawa written all over it. We need a righty, he's a life long Sens fan, let's do it!

I would be blown away if Bogosian ever leaves this city before he demands out.

He seems like the kindof guy who just fits in this city (he hunts, fishes, etc.) and the fans love him.

I wish this logic worked with us for Gretzky.

I believe he stated that in an ESPN interview several years ago.

As for Ottawa. One would have to think comparable offer from Nyquist would be Silfverberg. Almost exactly the same.

Probably similar, yes. I would think the Jets would want the younger player with higher upside in Zibanejad, but who knows. Zibanejad + high pick + prospect might be enough to get them to listen. Or not...

I'll say up front that WPG has zero incentive to trade.

I think this would be fair:

Bogosian, 2nd

For

Smith & Nyqvist
