17 minutes is a "full shift", last I checked.

I think he means for the entire season. Keeping him is one thing, but playing him regularly is another.

I'm not convinced they should keep him. He's made a couple nifty plays, but overall he doesn't look ready to be a scorer or playmaker at the NHL level yet. He's been flat out bad on the PP when given shifts there, and on a shift to shift basis struggles in the offensive zone.

Yeah he hasn't been producing anything offensively, but atleast he doesn't look out of place and rarely makes mistakes.

Too bad they can't send him to the AHL because i think he's ready to play against men.

Yes, it would be excellent if he was AHL eligible. I don't think going down to finish up in the Q when they are almost done with the season is going to help him, but also not sure if keeping him up here would be good for him. I think he goes down because have others have mentioned, it may not be smart to use a year of his entry-level contract on a shortened season, so it might be the best from a business perspective.

Say Ennis goes down with injury after sending Griggy down. Then what?

I guess Mackinnon.

That's one of the reasons i can see you guys keeping him.

Because he can hold his own on the third line, and if need be step up to a top 6 position.

I think playing him 12 minutes a night would be better for him than going back to juniors. Ideally the AHL would be the best option but I think centering the 3rd line is fine.

This is why I'm not sure if they send him down, we are so thin up front..if any of the top 6 gets injured for a significant amount of time we are screwed...especially if it's a center.

Kris Baker seems to think Grigs should stay up and is closer to playing his usual game than he was before. I'm sure he's watched a lot of Grigs in the Q so I respect his opinion.

If Grigs goes back to junior, can he go to Rochester after the season is complete? Could be nice to have Armia and Grigs build some early chemistry in Roch.

Nope, he would still be junior eligible.

Nope, won't be eligible until next year I believe. He'd finish the renaming 20 games, plus playoffs and then I'm not sure what he does from there

He looked slightly more comfortable out there today. I say keep him up. I think he has the talent, hockey IQ, drive, and off ice habits to make the transition. It may take him 30-40 games to really get comfortable but I think he'll get there.

I see, thanks guys, Kris Baker mentioned something about Grigs being able to go to Rochester and it sounded off to me.

I guess we'll see what they do.

Assuming Quebec is finished, yes, Grigs can play in Rochester.

I wasn't aware of that, good to hear. Wonder if we would put him up there after he'd done with the Q.

WTF so he can play there? Well then...

Hopefully Roch is in the playoffs by then.

Yes, CHL prospects can play in the AHL after their season is over.

I think Grigs sticks with the Sabres. He hasn't had a point yet, but he's played pretty well. If he gets sent down I'll be surprised.
