will grigs stick?

with 2 games left b4 Ruff has to decide if he stays or is sent down has Grigs shown enough to keep him up with the big boys?i like his play so far but he really has not made my head spin with his great offensive play.he has shown he is able to play both ways and this may be enough for Ruff to say he stays.what do you think happens to him

Same thing could be said about Sabres hockey.

He's been among our best forwards. I don't see why he doesn't deserve to.

Other than Ott, Kaleta and the HPV line, Grigs has probably been the next best. In terms of overall consistency at least.

IMHO, I don't think it's worth burning a year of his contract up if he's not contributing offensively. If it was a full 82 game schedule I might think otherwise, but at this point, I don't think he's adding much value to the team by being here.

This is my hope for the future in girgs-grigs-armia

*Images not uploading.....Car from the movie Carrie for Girgs...Ashton Martin for Grigs and the Batmobile for Armia....we should do a separate thread for what the lines would look like represented in cars...

The question is, do you wanna see it play Right Wing, for our number #1 draft pick, on an NHL team?

It might need a bit of a transmission upgrade, but it seems legit. At least as a depth player.

On the other hand, the Sabres aren't a Stanley Cup contender this season, so maybe it would be better to let him get the experience under his belt.

On the topic of Grigorenko staying with the big club or not, i assume he does. Not because his play warrants it, but because we are depleted at center. Ennis has been lackluster, so we need some reinsurance there. This is a rebuilding year, though i still have faith they can make some noise and get into the playoffs.

Agreed.

His first PP shift last night and his first shift of the second period, he was out there w/ Staff & Enzo and absolutely seemed to have a bounce in his step. Granted, I'm a LITTLE apprehensive about breaking up the FES line as there were a couple instances last night where they seemed to be putting it together, but the fact remains that Grigs is here for his offense. We're not getting it from the second line right now, so long as he's here, let's roll those dice.

Just for tonight, see what happens:

Vanek-Hodgson-Pominville
Stafford-Grigorenko-Ennis
Gerbe-Ott-Foligno
Scott-Hecht-Kaleta

I think Jame's concerns about Ennis was that he's too small to be an effective center as he gets over-powered. Ruff et all are compensating for that by having Stafford and Ennis swap defensive responsibilities.

The difference with Grigs and Ennis is that Grigs is a natural center. He could be worked into the lineup as a wing if his defensive game was lacking but it seems that Patty Roy did a good job of hammering his defensive responsibilities home.

You think Ennis and Grigorenko are comparable players?

This is why I think he may have a shot, take him out of our lineup and it makes us weaker at center than we already are.

The kid definitely is fitting in with the bottom 9 on the Sabres - he is a black hole offensively. He just needs to get worse on faceoffs and he will be all set.

Send him down, let him mature. We've screwed up the development curves of Myers and Girgensons (guys who clearly showed promise at a young age), I don't really want to mess with a potential first line center.

We've screwed up Girgensons after less than one season in the AHL and Grigorenko is a "Black hole offensively" after only 3 NHL games?

Holy Hyperbole Batman.
