I believe they got into a scrap or two at the WJC. I believe that's it, I'm sure both players have grown since then and have forgotten about it.

I don't care how young he is, I'd be wary of this player.

Plus he has a history with Kadri.
I blame the Islanders for his brutal season because of the way they handled him. He was on the 4th line with **** linemates. Such a dumb move on their part. In the AHL this season he has 36 pts in 39 games. That very good for a 20 yr old. I think he could still turn into a very good nhl player.

Agreed, the Islanders have just mismanaged this players once again brutally. If all goes well he might become a second line powerforward with a very good skill set.

Adding the second is unnecessary. Kulemin for Nino straight up. Struggling forward for struggling forward.

Still I would prefer to give Kulemin at least another 13 games to see if he can start getting both his defensive and offensive game back to where it use to be.

Nino would be a nice addition, but I don't know about giving up Kulemin in return.

Sure you can say that they are both struggling, but look at it like this: Nino played 4th line minutes last year, playing with linemates with basicially no talent, and has excelled in the AHL this season becoming one of the top scorers. Kuli on the otherhand is 6 years older and struggling while playing 2nd line minutes. Plus Nino has more potential (whether he lives up to it is completely up to him).

It's only been 2 games, give him time, he'll come around sooner than later. I'm not willing to give up on Kulie yet.

Ridiculous. But even more ridiculous, had Kulemin scored a goal last night, you probably wouldn't "do Kuli + 2nd for El Nino."

I wouldn't trade a roster player for him, other than MacArthur.

MacArthur + 2nd? Lol

I suppose it would depend on what they are looking for, cant imagine they want anything but the best prospects given their immense depth.

So i could imagine them wanting current roster upgrades. If that is the case, I would offer them a choice of a few guys.

MacArthur, Frattin, Franson and then some additional minor pieces I could all see be worth parting for to obtain nino.

Leafs need to start flexing their muscles financially. This is the type of move where you can take on bad contract + land a top prospect.

DiPetro: 8 years left at a 4.5 million cap hit; completely injury-prone, and now that he's not injured, he's not even starting.

MERCY.

Oh I'm definitely a big fan of Kuli, great defensively even when he struggles with his offense. But at the same time we have to be realistic. If we want Nino we are going to have to match prices set by other teams and to get you have to give. I'd feel comfortable with this deal. If we think we are the only team that wants him we need a wake up call.

It wouldn't be a bad idea for the Leafs to do something along those lines.

Acquire DiPietro and Nino as a package and buyout DiPietro this summer.

Charles Wang is cheap enough to take that into serious consideration.

At this point I think the number one priority for Nonis should be acquiring a number one goalie.

Despite us lacking a number one center, our forwards are pretty good and I expect to see a moderately effective offense under Carlyle. I think Kessel, Lupul, Bozak, Grabovski, Kulemin, Kadri, Van Riemsdyk is a good enough core up-front to make the playoffs in the East.

Like-wise for the defense. Phaneuf, Gunnarsson, Gardiner, Liles, Franson, Komisarek (This should be the line-up when healthy) looks strong, and IMO should be good enough to rank better than at-least 7 other teams in the conference.

But goaltending remains an issue. I just don't trust Scrivens or Reimer in goal. I don't think either of them can carry a team for a full season, and to think one of these goalies will develop into a number one in the next couple of months is a bit far fetched IMO.

1. Get Luongo. I know it's easier said than done, but I think Nonis should definitely make a push for him.

I wouldn't mind giving up Mac but Frattin I dunno about I'd want something good as well. Nino is bacsically what Frattin could be but with more skills.
