Jansen Hockey, Nice write up. I think your bang on with your player assessments. Great list.

Petes Fan. Blacker committed to Western Michigan. Im not 100% about Jackson Bales.

Other kids play the NCAA card as a way to deter teams to not pick them, so they can fall where they want. It happens every year. Even with a NCAA commitment, kids will still get drafted, but teams will not use a high pick on them with the risk of never seeing them play for there team.

Connor Schlichting, good chance he goes in the top 10. Future NHL player.

Think Connor will end up in Oshawa. A lot of interest there. Will learn how to be tough in the Motor City.

Well if Strome goes to Kingston we will see. Like I said, Bennett is really good, Strome is great.

I believe if he had a mock draft he wouldn't have too many right. Too many deals made plus all it takes is for one GM to like something about a player to make him want him where others might not.

Personally not a fan of his picks, but everyone has an opinion.

Is there a consensus top 10 at this point?

I don't think much will change. Not many want to go to Petes, so they will have to settle on Korostolev. Kingston is taking Strome unless he agrees to go to Erie and the Mississauga born kid doesn't want to stay home so the Steelheads are not in the picture for him. I believe the Steelheads will end up with Spencer regardless.

Don't think there can ever be. One person's #8 is another person's #12 etc.

To be fair, deals (and in this league there are many at the top) throw anyone's top picks into a mixer....no-one can predict same. Nature of the beast.

The draft is all politics, there are a lot of deals done long before the draft.

How about a top 5 that looks like this:

#1. Ottawa - Day
#2. Erie - Werenski
#3. Peterborough - Strome
#4. Kingston - Konecny
#5. Mississauga - Spencer

I don't think Strome passes top 3, but you never know the same thing happened with Ho-sang last year. I predict him being picked by Erie with Matthew Spencer going to Mississauga at 4 or 5. It will be interesting where the Americans come to play and who will be coming over.

Is draft day April 6th?

Seems unlikely since he has one passport and that's a Canadian one.
He was born in Belgium, which does not grant birthright citizenship, so he is a Canadian citizen due to the fact that both of this parents are Canadian.
Despite living in the US for some time, neither of his parents have obtained US citizenship and don't seem interested in doing so.
Unless they obtain citizenship, Day would have to wait until the age of 18 to obtain it by himself.

Seems even more unrealistic when you consider the fact that he's said playing for Team Canada would be a dream and to paraphrase, "there's no point in me becoming the first US citizen in my family when I want to play for Canada".

How is Stephens doing? He was ranked really high at the start of the year.

Agreed. With the 93 group (I was a PT guy while coaching at the time), we had a player in on the Thursday, two days before the draft. At the time, our GM had called and confirmed with the teams ahead of us that they would not take him. Low and behold, Our guy gets picked 3 picks before our pick was up. Just how it goes. Felt bad for the kid, but he turned out ok lol. Last year Kingston had Bennett up, but where pretty nervous that someone was going to take him. GM's don't even truly know who's getting picked where.

Im not sure what Mocks have to do with scouting thou. What Sean does is what we all do, scout players. Ill divulge that I like Sean, I count him as a friend (imagine if everyone with bias' admitted them online lol) and I know many GMs who use him as a sounding board. It's certainly fair to say that you don't like his picks, but he has an eye for talent.

I posted this on page 13
Responses seemed to indicate Erie would be taking Strome at #2, and Werenski will end up at the NTDP so wouldn't be taken in the first round

Sounds like the Petes better be putting on the full court press to ensure Strome will report.
Do the Otters take a winger to play with McDavid or a d-man? Does or can Konecny play the wing?
Ottawa - Day
Erie - Werenski (if NTDP, then Spencer)
Peterborough - Strome
Kingston - Konecny
Mississauga - Spencer (Stephens)
Niagara - Stephens (Crouse)
Sudbury - Korostelev

Just my uneducated guess, nothing more LOL

Rumours are starting to make their way out there. I have a feeling alot of posters will be quite surprised with the top 10 this year, let me just say that.
Anything you care to share?

Based on what I posted above, this is my latest guess at the top 5
Ottawa - Day
Erie - Strome
Peterborough - Konecny
Mississauga - Spencer
Kingston- Crouse
