John Muse called up

Canes Recall John Muse from Charlotte

Welcome to Raleigh, John. Who'd have thought that when you started this season in Estero that you'd see any time at all with the big club? Anybody think he gets a start before Ellis returns to us?

I hope not, mostly because that means Peters A). Gets Hurt, B) Sucks, or C) Ellis is out for a month.

The FB crowd is already chiming in. Apparently we should have signed Roloson or Brent Johnson instead.

If one of these two knuckleheads goes down, who's next on the depth chart, Tripp?

I saw Muse play for the Everblades. I thought he was pretty good. He put up some awesome numbers for them, en route to their championship.

It would be the kind of situation where a Ty Conklin type might come out of retirement for an easy paycheck.

Honestly I'd rather have Tripp than one of those guys - from what I understand he actually takes shots in practice fairly regularly whenever one of the two goalies takes an off day, so he's used to seeing NHL shots. Plus of course it would be so epic the story would be handed down through the generations.

Legace would work for me. Signing a washed up NHL starter is probably better than going with the #4 guy in the system.

Ah well, Peters it is for a while.

On the radio this afternoon, Forslund said Ellis might be well enough to back up Peters Saturday. I'm thinking if he's well enough, he's playing.
