Palmieri has developed really well for the Ducks

I actually am higher on him than most of the forwards on that gold medal 2010 World Juniors team aside from Stepan

anisimov was phenomenal. dubi strong defensively and helping to make stuff happen. realize how significant of a loss they are after tonight. they're difference makers, hopefully nash can make up offensively what we lost defensively from them. AA seems to thrive in that environment. dubi def seems to like it as well.

Both AA and Dubi played during the lockout - not surprised to hear that they're doing well. Having said that, I do think AA has a chance to be a legit top line forward, certainly top 6. Playing in low pressure CLB will only help him get there IMO. Dubi, on the other hand, tops out where he is, I think - 2nd line / 3rd line tweener with flashes that make you wonder why he isn't more. Still happy to have Nash.

More irked by the Tarasenko news. I have gotten over it in regards to my ability to root for McIlrath independently, but I'm still fuming at the decision making that led us to piss away a chance to draft a top five, sure-fire offensive talent (you know the kind of guy we're never picking high enough to draft, which is why we have to make AA, Dubi, Erixon & a 1st type deals to get such a guy in the first place). Wish we could have at least swapped back in to snag him when he stayed on the board for another 5 picks. Sigh. Oh well.

To me personally, it should've been a no-brainer to bring him back. Watch one of our all-time greatest players to have a shot winning the cup with us, would've extended his legacy and possibly put his number in the rafters if he won. He also would be the perfect PP player for this team and put him on a line with Nash and Richards sounds very scary for the opposition.

In a short season, Jagr would've been a great fit on this team. He wore down pretty hard last year, so in an 82-game schedule, no thanks. But he signed before the lockout, so I agree with not bringing him back.

Love Jagr, but his ship in NY has sailed. Last year, this year, doesn't matter.

I just saw dubi on the bench for Columbus, wow, it just did not look right. I liked the nash trade, I felt it was needed, but the character dubi brought will be missed. I like to think he will be back as a ranger some day, but only time will tell.

I think Tarasenko is going to be such a stud. It's a bummer we didn't draft him, but that's not why I mention him at all. I'm just stoked that he's finally playing in the NHL and we get to see his talent.

I have such a hard time rooting for Buffalo. For what happened in the '07 playoffs, I still have bad blood there. Dated a Sabres fan for 2 years and my hatred began to slip away, but now knowing that if they lose today she'll be miserable makes me giddy with joy.

If only both teams could lose today *sigh*

Go Sabres

i think the Rangers will miss his character and passion that Dubinsky brought more than anything else.. he was always sticking up for teammates and iim sure people will miss him and Crosby going at it... especially with the antics that Crosby pulls every year.

And Steve Ott is on the board. Buffalo's PP looked good. Why can't we have a PP even remotely like that?

maybe Rupp needs to be on the powerplay screening the goalie. Rangers need to crash the net more, their skill doesnt translate well on the powerplay

Man Game 3 was probably the worst officiating I have ever seen in any sport ever.

Losing Game 5 in OT was the worst feeling I've experienced since the Trey Junkins bad snap.

They're not very comparable players and Ott wasn't in front of the net screening the goalie. He was in the high slot waiting for the one timer and burned it home. Comparing Ott to Asham and Rupp is misguided. Ott is a legit third liner who can slot in the top six for grit and deserves PP minutes. Asham and Rupp are pure fourth liners.

I feel the same, I think he can easily become a 1st line scoring forward.

Look at his ridiculous AHL production last year, it was 100+ pts over a full season. He was a very nifty playmaker in the WJC his first year, but the whole team seemed like a mess in the 2011 world juniors.

I don't put much stock in the WJC, more so in Pro and Palmieri has been improving every year since he entered pro hockey. Kreider is off to a pretty bad start his 2nd year. I think Palmieri is the much safer prospect at this point.

We would have had to trade our equivalent of Roy, which is Derek Stepan. Would you make that deal?

Maybe if Miller didn't weigh 120lbs that contact wouldn't have mattered.

Soft.

EDIT - I really have to learn to stop hating the Sabres
