- 2 Time World Series Champion
- Career .329 average in postseason play
- 4 Times Top 5 in MVP voting

Good pick. Took in last draft with pick 199 which IMO was a steal. This is about where he should be going.

Simmons is notoriously underrated. Easily a top ten all-time left fielder.

Newark selects 3B Scott Rolen

Rolen is one of the most well-rounded third basement in history, with a career .281/.364/.490 triple slash, 316 home runs and 1,287 RBI, and 8 gold gloves to his name. He is also a 7-time all-star, and won the 1997 ROY. His 66.6 WAR ranks 93rd in baseball history.

My team is turning out to be a lot more modern than I anticipated, but I'm pretty happy with the pick.

Mother****er.

Active player, but one who I think is fully deserving of a Hall of Fame enshrinement in the coming years. It sounds strange to say but Rolen certainly qualifies as one of the most accomplished two-way third basemen ever, especially given the lack of depth at the position and its under-representation in Cooperstown.

Still an incredible defender with a cannon arm and plus range despite his back and shoulder woes coupled with advancing age.

After Schmidt, he's the best defender at third I've ever seen. I never saw got to see Brooks play.

There's another active player that I think can hold a candle to Rolen at 3rd defensively.

Count me as well as someone who hoped Rolen would slide. Great choice.

A few rounds ago I was considering drafting Rolen and moving Chipper to LF, but decided against it.

There are far too many quality outfielders to do that.

That's why I decided against it. Chipper would lose a lot of value at LF

I'm most disappointed by the fact that Cap Anson, Honus Wagner, and Mordecai Brown didn't end up on the same team with one another.

168 - New York Yankees select - SS/3B George Davis

2665 career hits (68th all time)
80.2 WAR (33rd amongst positional players)
61st all time in oWAR and 19th all time in dWAR
56th all time in runs scored
60th all time in RBIs
17th all time stolen bases
OPS+ of 121

Quote:
Davis has a higher WAR than Ozzie Smith, Robin Yount and Luke Appling despite playing in less games.

Played more than half of his games at shortstop and that's where he'll play for me.
