Has Bettman came out and announced what day the deadline is in order for a season to take place?

Not sure if anyone's posted, but Botta says they are edging closer. Says you can plan on a season starting in two weeks. Good news.

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger
Well, if its a close as we're sensing it could be a very "good day" according to source.

@DarrenDreger
PA hotel is buzzing in anticipation. Down to minimal issues...but, still not done. And definition of "minimal" may differ.

probably posted in the previous thread, but I dunno.

Agreed. I've only averaged about 1 hour of actual work each day due to HF and Twitter browsing.

Plus, it would be nice seeing Tavares dominate where he belongs: back home on LI. Can we still call him Hans?

He did...
I saw this morning on the bottom ticker tape on ESPN that he said Friday January 11th is the date.

Nothing official yet that I've heard, but several sources have said it's done. Let's hope this is Official!

Don't know what he's hearing but he sounds optimistic.

That would actually suck rotten eggs, and if so both sides deserve to eat rotten eggs.

ZZZZZZZ

This "season" is so tainted by now it doesn't matter. They should've started legitimately in October.

Some of you are the biggest suckers around for loving this. Reminds me of the line from Animal House when the frat pledge gets beat with the paddle and says -

"Thank you sir may I have another"

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

At long last, finally relief. Lace 'em up and drop the damn puck.
Can't wait to see JT with his improved shot and speed.

@DarrenDreger: Draft lottery will change. All 14 teams fully eligible for 1st pick overall. Weighting system may remain, but 4-move restriction out.

@DarrenDreger: Confirming revenue sharing will spread $200 million. Additionally, $60 mil PA initiated growth fund also included.

@DarrenDreger: Sup discipline: Shanahan 1st, appeal with Bettman 2nd. For 6 or more games neutral third party will decide if necessary.

- The 10-year deal also has an opt-out clause that kicks in after eight years.

- The salary variance on contracts year to year cannot vary more than 35 per cent and the final year cannot vary more than 50 per cent of the first year.

- A player contract term limit will be seven years and eight years for a team signing its own player.

A 50-game season would start on Jan. 15 and a 48-game season would start on Jan. 19.
