I can't imagine he'll have an impact in the NHL.

Garth Snow should assemble a team made up entirely of waiver wire pickups.

If you need further evidence that Sportsnet is not quite as up on things as TSN, last night John Shannon was saying on Sportsnet that Matthew Lombardi moving out Lombardi would open up a roster spot for Keith Aucoin, I guess he didn't get the memo that he was on waivers.

Speaks volume to the Islanders depth when they have 3 waiver wire pickups to start the year.

Yikes.

Man, Islanders are really focused on waiver claims this season. Will Snow pick up Connolly and send him back to the Island?

Just out of curiosity, before this and the other two claims, how many contracts did the Islanders have?

Bad news for Marlie fans. He was doing great this year. Best of luck to Aucoin.

I liked the way Keith Aucoin played for Caps in playoffs last year. Looked good as there number 4 center. Lets go Islanders!

Josh Bailey and Jesse Joensuu are currently "suspended". Both were injured overseas and we think the suspension is just until they get healthy and may have to do with something them not getting paid while injured.

This move is puzzling though because Aucoin is not an NHL caliber forward and we can't send him down without putting him on waivers again.

He's not better than Cizikas or Strome at this point, so I wonder why they did this. Maybe Reasoner will be out the door, and Aucoin is insurance in case one of the two kids struggles.

The Marlies may get him back pretty soon if Aucoin goes back on waivers.

47 including all waiver pickups and the two suspended players.
+ two slide risk players (Reinhart, Strome).

they still have room for more. Came into the season with very few contracts.

I'd rather see Aucoin out there than Reasoner.
