Lucky SOB gets paid millions and then lands in Hitchcock's defensive system and will probably keep getting paid.

I'm a Ranger fan and I hope he competes for the Norris. Good Luck Wade Redden!

For anyone that has seen Redden in the past two years:
What's the scouting report on him? Does he have anything left? Can he be a nice 3rd pairing d-man for the Blues?

If Redden can't at least find a role in the bottom pairing on that team with their defensive system, he's done. That's an ideal place for him to return and I hope he's up to it.

Great addition by St. Louis. They will not be disappointed.
that means White is 99.9% not signing with St. Louis though

We don't care about Cola anymore.

More likely:
Redden Pietrangelo
Jackman Shattenkirk
Russell Polak
Woywitka
Cole goes back to Peoria.
The 2nd and 3rd pairings have tremendous chemistry together, and Pietrangelo can cover up for any mistakes Redden makes.

Last time we signed unwanted player (Elliott) it turned out pretty well for us.

Solid signing. I'm glad the Blues took the risk. Depth is going to be extremely important in this short season. I expect A LOT of injuries...

Good luck to Wade and to the Blues.
Hitchcock saw lots of Wade when he was coach of Philadelphiha.
Hope Wade is able to regain at least some of his former skills.

Hopefully redden has cleaned up his act off the ice and proves to be a good signing for the blues.

Blues fan who does understand the signing. Do they really think that he is going to be the guy to pair with Petro? Solid for depth, but I'd probably rather have Cole in there game to game. Guess Woywitka is gone as well.

Oh god no. If Wade Redden is on our top line we're in trouble.
Treat this like the Darryl Sydor signing three years ago.

"Cole", redwings85 made an unnecessary correction as Grandpabuzz knew Colaiacovo was gone.
Low risk, maybe some reward. Good situation for Redden.

We were able to hide Huskins and Colaiacovo on that line for most of last year and came close to setting a League record for fewest goals against.
I can't imagine that Redden has deteriorated so much that he'd be a significant downgrade from Huskins or Cola.

I don't think you have to worry about redden getting top line minutes.

Redden was one of the most solid citizens on and off the ice. In Ottawa he had a box for every home game called Wades World where kids from the Children s Hospital could watch games for free.
He did so much work for the Children s hospital that one of the wings is named for him and has a mural of he and is brother playing hockey on a prairie pond.
And when he left they took an ad out in the newspaper thanking him for his work. He was prominent with many charities besides the childrens hospital and reportedly did a lot of work under the radar.
He is a great guy in the locker room and in the community.

It's worth noting that hitch's system isn't that different from the jacques martin system that Wade thrived in.
