Leafs are winning, wonder if they have started routing the parade yet.

He got called because Chris Lee is a horrible ref and has always been conveniently horrible whenever he refs Rangers games (he's from Philly and is a born and raised Flyers fan).

Typical Rangers hockey. Get out shot 2-to-1, have your goaltender keep you in the game, and pray for a lucky bounce in the upcoming periods.

Nash looked decent.

I'd like to see Kreider-Richards-Nash as the top line. Kreider/Nash, at 6'4" and 230+ lbs each would give defense fits. Especially with their skill set.

Rangers looked flat. Lundqvist looked great (was nervous given he didn't play in Europe and didn't have the real game experience some other players had heading into this season).

I also don't know why we're talking about the Rangers not being physical. Callahan was a wrecking ball and Staal was dropping the hammer, too.

Perfectly justified to be angry at that call. It was terrible.
Boyle has every right to be angry (I was too), bit you want to the refs. It's a simple rule that players always forget. SHouldn't have been a penalty, but the extra two is Boyle's fault. Keep your mouth shut and fume on the bench. Has anyone ever actually seen a referee/umpire change a decision because a player yelled at them?

Sure, but Boyle is a veteran professional hockey player. He should know better, especially in a 0-0 game. It's a penalty. Deal with it. You're not going to like a lot of the penalties called against you, but keep it to yourself.

That said, I agree. It wasn't a whole lot he did. But it's the officials discretion to make that call.

I don't have a problem without putting BB on the PP, but he had a good period when he WAS on the ice.

Whatever, we'll get over that stupid call. PP goal incoming.

I thought we were soft. Bruins beat us at our own game (although it's their game too). Staal had a nice hit. Callahan threw one or two okay hits, but overall, they dominated us physically.

You also don't see an extra two unless a guy is damn near taking a swing at the ref. Boyle was barely even saying anything yet he conveniently got the extra 2. If it was any ref but Lee, I'd agree with you.

LOL at 'stood and watched'. the giveaway was terrible (but at least he redeemed himself by getting back and stopping the puck), he was where he should have been for the rebound, between his man and the goal, there's no way he should be expecting a 25+ ft rebound to blow past him

The physicality was fine. It was 7 out of every 8 passes going to the other team that was the problem imo.

This kind of physicality in the first game of the season without any preseason games is really hard to deal with. Del Zotto and Callahan are two best Rangers by far. Cally needs more ice. Hags, Gabby, Staal - need to get their head on straight. Rangers have more size than a year ago - need to use it. Skill, speed on bottom 6 may be a problem. And I wish Prust was here to stand up to Lucic. Someone needs to.
I tend to agree with you here. It would energize them and get them going.
