Kadri vs B.Schenn on Monday

JvR vs. L.Schenn

Can't wait for that one.

The Flyers always do good against the Leafs though. We play a lot better against the Pens.

Schenn's been heating up.

Playing solid, and the stats are starting to come. 6 points in his last 5 games.

Hell of a deflection goal today, and his saucer pass to the streaking Voracek was a thing of beauty.

Kadri isn't a physical player. Just look at how soft he is on this.

RNH isn't exactly a physical player.... but i can find a video of him man handling Brendan Morrow. What i'm saying is that you can basically find a video of anyone dishing it out on someone.

I watch the AHL. Kadri is more physical than you think.

What about videos?

Maybe once is uncharacteristic. If you have done it over the course of your career, that's called being physical.

He's not even close to the physical player that Schenn is, though.

Not to discredit B. Schenn at all, but man the posters on the first few pages look stupid for their baseless trashing of Kadri. Small sample size sure, but he's been one of our best and most consistent players so far.

I'm probably the biggest Schenn fan to post in this thread, and I've been VERY fair towards Kadri. Kadri has played better so far this year, although the past 3 games Schenn is getting going. But in no way is Kadri physical game close to Schenn's. That's the most consistent part of Brayden's game, and it's much, much further along than Kadri. Please, don't try to compare these two players physical games, because that is the one thing between these two players that you can use "AINEC", and have it be valid.

I'm pretty sure Leafs just want this "soft" label thrown off of Kadri because he isn't soft at all... He isn't the strongest on his skates, but he draws a lot of penalties and lays a good amount of hits.

That's fine, this site already looks dumb enough for how it portrayed Kadri. It still doesn't compare to Schenn's game. Schenn's physical game is constant even when he is playing his worst hockey. Factor in his size compared to Kadri, and you have a much better physical game.

Yeah, I don't disagree at all with this... I just believe Kadri is under-rated (or was until recently) by most fans (leafs included). Schenn was hugely over-rated after his wj performace, it was amazing though and I understand why.

Both of these guys have been severely over-rated and under-rated and they're both still very young. Schenn looks promising, I like both players so far. I'm just glad that Leafs fans finally stopped complaining about Kadri and now don't want him traded in every proposal.

Anyways, yes Schenn > Kadri physically and I believe they'll have similar production throughout their career, looking forward to both players.

We'll have to see how Kadri stands up to a Kovalchuk punch to the face before we can judge his toughness

Good one, are you implying Kovy is a *****? Guy is a ****ing tank and is like 225 pounds. Plus add in he's about 8 years older than Schenn. Way to contribute

kadri isnt soft at all, he's pesty and will try to throw a huge hit now and then, but he doesnt go around chasing every hit.

Also tends to try and dangle instead of plow through someone, which is probably why he gets labelled as soft as it looks like he's trying to avoid being hit when he fails on alot of his dangles.

Definitely not soft

I think this is a fair comparison even though leaf fans may hate it, Kadri's physicality is more like Colby Armstrong's. Armstrong is good at seeking out guys who put themselvles in a position to get blown up and he's very good at it. Kadri can blow guys up but its more when theyre not ready for it or in an awkward position. He makes big hits but isnt really all that physical in the corners and along the boards consistently.

Schenn is more like his brother. Strong along the boards, consistently physical, can still get you open ice and is fairly willing to scrap. Kadri isnt soft by any means but Schenns combo is a little different

Yes, whoever has the better game tonight between these 2 will be named king of hockey. Then, we can close this thread. Obviously, a similar fate awaits JVR and Luke after the game.
