I'll say it again, we will not have a 1st round pick in the up coming draft, it will be traded.

The right player has to become available. I still wonder if the Coyotes would have been willing to pull the trigger on an OEL for 1st overall deal last draft, that would have been great.

A younger d-man of top-4 quality would have to be on the market, that's the only way that pick gets dealt.

It's possible but it depends on where they pick and who's available IMO.

It could packaged with some player (ie: Gagner) too.

If they could snag any one of Jones/MacKinnon/Barkov with the pick I would just keep it.

Top 3, I want Jones. Was hoping we'd pick closer to 10 but I'm not going to hold my breath. Tambo has taken our organization to a whole new level of fail. One that this league has never seen before.

We could draft the love child of Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux.

It wouldn't help.

This organization is fundamentally screwed.

It needs an enema, not an injection.

I really hope you are wrong. Dealing high picks can really come back to bite teams bad.

I can already see Tambo at the lotto show with that big-ass smirky smile beaming with overwhelming joy after yet another lotto win.

He should just walk up to the podium on Draft Day... pick up the microphone... and say just one word... Jones... drop the mic... and walk away.

If the Oilers are going to be the leagues laughing stock we might as well play it up big-time.

Change the logo to a troll head with full-on hair... basically Katz's son instead of the Oiler logo.

Team song...

We fillz the rinkz... and we don't give a **** if we got a team or not.

Every year we just be winnin' the draft and taking yer moneyyyyy.

Sung to the tune of Paper Planes.

When's Katz kid draft eligible?

I vote we pick him with the first overall we get that year.

If the season goes as bad as it is going now, I am getting my hopes up about oilers drafting Barkov. That would be just awesome.

The Oilers are way ahead of the game... they are already scouting the 2014 and 2015 draft classes. 2013 #1 is already in the bag.

We'll see Stu at an Atom tournament next week.

The goal of every player on the Oilers roster being a 1st round pick is nearly complete.

Stage 2... having every roster player as a #1 pick is now their top priority.

I don't think we'll finish that poorly, but wow Drouin. 89 points in 41 games.

20 points more than MacKinnon in the same number of games.

It absolutely has to be a three horse race right now for 1st.

You gotta throw Barkov in the mix as well.

I think Jones is #1 but #2 should be interesting... Barkov, MacKinnon and Drouin all are very different type players yet hard not to say they could all go #2.

That's not even taking into account Nichushkin and Monahan.

We will have another top 5 pick for sure, probably even top 3. I expect them to draft more for need this time. With several players being so close in terms of upside, I would imagine, they would be a lot more interested in Jones or a big skilled centerman like Barkov or Monahan than in another smallish winger. If the player they like is not available, I would not be opposed to trading the pick for a couple of estabslihed NHLers that fit this team's needs.

Add to that the Finnish factor with Columbus' new GM, you can say any one of Jones, MacKinnon, Drouin and Barkov could go first overall. I sure wonder where we will end up picking.

Who are guys that are hard to play against but can play hockey? Guys who you hate to play against, but love having on your team?

Think Marchand and Downie for example. Ideally available in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Tyler Bertuzzi, Todd's nephew, is one off the top of my head.

Although he probably won't go that high. Not nearly as skilled as those two.
