Which trio of Russians will have the best career?

I've seen a lot of people claim Galchenyuk was the best player in the 2012 draft, and I've seen a lot of people claim Grigorenko dropped too far due to having a bad playoff series mostly caused by having mono. Yakupov went #1 overall, but a lot of people seem to think he was not a clear #1 like many drafts have. What do you think? All 3 made their teams.

Galchenyuk is going to go down in history as the best player Russia has ever produced.

With his size and being a center, I think I take him as well. I know Grigorenko is same size and also a center, but Galchenyuk is more skilled.

Those "best ever" statements are pretty dangerous. That is what people said about Viktor Kozlov, too.

Close race so far, I think it will be tight between Yakupov and Gally

Let's be real, he grew up and played in Russia from 4-15, he is a Russian produced player.

That's ridiculous. He hasn't played a game and were calling him better than Tretiak? Better than Kharlamov, Makarov, Bure, and Federov? What's even the point of making that statement?

It was tongue-in-cheek.

I know he was the consensus, but most believed the other players in the draft weren't too far behind him..that it could be close who turns out to be the best.

Parents are Russian..all of his skills were developed while in Russia..he may have played for team USA, but I think most consider him to be a Russian produced talent.

Grigorenko is bigger (6'3" at the combine last year).
Not sure what you mean by more skilled. The two have pretty different skill sets. Galchenyuk will probably shoot more often, drive the net more, while also being a good playmaker and great stick handler. Grigorenko has fantastic vision and an unreal saucer pass, and a pretty good shot that he'll probably underutilize, though he's not as good a dangler as Galch and probably won't play as physical a game.

I'd take both of them over Yakupov personally 1) because of the need for a big skilled center in Buffalo, and 2) because Yak strikes me as the kind of player who wants to do it all by himself and as more of a defensive liability than either of the G's. Between Grigs/Galch, it's pretty close for me. Homer voted Grigs.

Well obviously he doesn't think so since he considers himself American...

Gally is American he makes the choice of what he identifies himself as, to do otherwise is insulting to him. For the record in my opinion he won't even be the best American player on the Gold Medal winning team when there careers are all said and done that is Seth Jones for me.

Would go Grigorenko over Yakupov in the two Russian question.

Went with Galchy, I think Yakupov will be great and put up tons of points, but when its all said in done, I think Glachy will have the better career.
