I could see Anahiem and Washington based trade but that's about it, he seemed to love playing for Bruce. Could you imagine Getzlaf and Ovechkin...obviously Ryan or Perry coming back to Washington.

On a Luongo note, has there been anything new or is the common feeling we are just waiting out some teams to suck some more.

Iginla, age 31, 10 years at 5.3m. Yep i'd do quality assets that. Got a 31 yo Iginla about?
Can we adjust for number of wingers on an NHL team and number of wingers in demand?

He hasn't lost his drive, he's lost his creativity. Teams will always find out ways to stop star offensive players, it's up to the players to find creative ways to continue being successful.

Every year the Sedins are on the verge of being "figured out'.

And Iginla isn't just any typical skater; for him to have of any kind of effectiveness - he has to be physical. Physical player 'hit the wall' far faster than 'perimeter players'.

He's slower than he was two years ago. Needs to get his conditioning figured out.

Yeah but Toronto has nothing I'd want. Would rather deal with someone else.

That's a good point. I was referring more to his conditioning and playing behind the Sedins so that he gets more favorable matchups.

We all want Toronto to trade for Luo just so we can say "we told you so to their fans" lets stop denying we care about the hockey part of the trade...

And yes im kidding.

7 goals against Florida, 5 past Reimer.

I hope GMMG has call waiting.

Then they get a summer to figure out a new set of 25-30 little plays to add to their repertoire.

Dubnyk has given up 4 on 23shots, granted he couldn't do anything on the 4th goal.

Florida has lost 4 in a row giving up lots of goals in the process.

Your move Dale Tallon.

EDIT:: Could Gillis be waiting on Erik Gudbranson to recover from injury? He's not even listed on Florida's website anymore.

Florida was a bizzarre abberation last year. Their best players were people Fleischmann and Versteeg. They are back to earth this year with or without Luongo.

I'd love Ovechkin, don't get me wrong, but a 10 mil 10 year contract for a player who relied on his physical gifts and is on the downward spiral isn't something I want on this team at the price of any significant assets. With the d core we already have locked up, we basically wouldn't have a bottom six.

They just said on HNIC that the Sens are asking a kings ransom for Bishop (G) and the Kings are asking a kings ransom for Bernier(G). Yet they've all whined about Gillis 'apparently' asking a ton for Luongo. The former 2 are BACK UP GOALIES. Seriously. If you could even consider Bishop a back up, I had to look him up - I didn't know who the hell he was. Who would you rather have in your net?

They're all asking a lot cause they're smart GM's. There's an extremely limited supply out there, and will be for quite some time.

Now that Washington is a serious contender for Luongo, what should we be after?

I think we need to target some futures, like Orlov is a guy I think would be a fit for next season with Ballard potentially on the move in the offseason.

Then beyond that a 1st would be valuable or prospects.

If there are any roster players I would look at, perhaps would be Brouwer all though I do think this trade should target future assets myself.

Anders fing Lindback got two 2nds and a 3rd... and he is career 18-14-2 with a 2.62 GAA and a .913 save %... most of that playing behind Suter and Weber...
