Great day of weather today. It was in the 20s.

Check weather.com and it says tomorrow is supposed to be the same.

Go to 5 day forcast and Thursday is back to the same crap of a high of 4 degrees and a low of negative 20s.

How far the internet has come since 1996 - here's the Warner Bros website for Space Jam.

Sad but true: When I GDT'd Space Jam a few OT threads ago, I got a lot of my inspiration from this site.

I am still absolutely furious about the two refs in my AHA game last night.

The penalty that was called against me absolutely pissed me off. It should have been a holding the stick penalty on the other guy. Basically, this is what happened...

In the O-Zone, one of their fast skaters came and stripped the puck from me, I whacked at it, on the ice, and my stick came up to his thigh. He grabbed it, and took off skating while protecting the puck with the stick in the other hand. I let go, he skated about 10 feet and then dropped my stick. Here is what rubbed me the most where I was almost yelling at the ref: When the ref blew the whistle, HE STILL HAD POSSESSION OF THE PUCK!

I **** you not, I looked over at the ref to say thank you and he was POINTING AT ME!

Two minutes for hooking.

Then, later on in the third period, our captain pulled me back to D. I had the puck pinned along the boards in the D-Zone and two guys were hammering at me from behind. I knocked one dude back and on his ass, he got up, cross checked me into the glass, I still had the puck in my feet, and then right after I kicked it up to my center, a third guy comes in and hooks his stick around my skates and takes me down.

NO EFFIN CALL!!?

We got absolutely jobbed by the refs all night. Tons of hooking, tripping, and interference calls should have been called against the other team... Nothing.

Jarick... Thoughts?

I have never seen holding the stick called in the AHA, nor have I seen high sticking called more than once. The refs are pretty much just there to make sure fights don't get out of hand, call the blatantly obvious tripping/roughing/holding calls, and call offsides/goals.

Yeah, that is what gets me going the most from last night.

One of our best forwards was blatantly tripped at least 5 memorable times. No call.

Third guy in on me in the third period, uses his stick like a hook at my ankles and pulls me down.

Also... We had a goal waived off because the D1 sub goalie knocked the net off right before the shot. Add insult to injury, a goal was called good against us that never crossed the line. it was resting on the red line before our goalie froze it.

I am going to be curious how the AHA handles the D2 Spartans (and Hellfish/Darkness/Wolf-Rayets) after this season... Each team has at least three skaters that should be in D1.

Hell, the Spartans are going to lose our goalie to D1 after this season, maybe even C3...

Was it the short ref with the goatee or the fat guy with the gray mullet?

Also don't count out that newer refs might be doing D2.

No offense to Kassian but he looks like a bum in that pic. Maybe he's growing that beard until he gets to play in a game.

Hoppy awesome as always.

I know that feeling, bud.

So, I missed the history class yesterday and we have exams tomorrow. To my credit, I had a perfect record before that and we were just supposed to go back through the class and re-read some important parts that will be on the exam. Yeah, didn't miss anything.

Oh that reminds me so much of the refs in floorball league when I played there. I believe we were in 1div-SM, so that would be junior 2nd tier in Finland. I was playing goalie, and saw most of the things that happened on the field. Floorball is supposed to be a non-contact sport since players don't wear padding or helmets (apart from the goalie). Still, players would get away with ridiculous stuff like high-sticking or slashing other guys and slashing the goalie. I got slashed up high and especially on the thighs (didn't wear padding there as it reduced my already crappy mobility). That was annoying and hurt, but not as annoying as people screening you AND slashing at the same time. I developed a counter for that though, as refs can't see me when I'm screened and usually look at the play, I would just punch the screening forward to the nuts. Alternatively, cheap shot to the knee works just as well. Never got called for it, despite the opposite team's complaints.

I have also done Ron Hextall-style running hit on an opposite player once. A total ******* who would always taunt after his goals, and we were down 7-2 or something in the final period. He had scored 2 goals on me (I was switched in at start of the 3rd when the game was 5-1) and celebrated like crazy each time. At one point, I saw him battling for the ball in the corner with two of our players. Didn't even think, just reacted and hit him from behind, over the knee-high boards and I believe he hit his face on some chairs that were there. I've never been so proud on myself, despite getting a game misconduct and a 3-game ban from the league, effectively ending my goalie career.

I bet Puhis tried to taunt him afterwards too.

Switching back to Firefox (from Chrome) at work for a while. Really prefer Chrome's pretty much everything except memory issues. Apparently my work PC is limited to 3 GB memory with Windows 7, since it's 32-bit. Ugh. So Chrome keeps eating up more and more memory until the entire system completely hangs and/or Chrome crashes.

I've noticed that Shockwave Flash seems to hang internet pages as well. Something to keep an eye on.

You can try IE, too. They've really improved it quite a bit with the latest version.

Things I like about Chrome over Firefox:

- Extensions are so much better
- Pages load SLIGHTLY faster
- Text is rendered much cleaner
- Better text and zoom options
- Scrolling is better
- Better website compatibility

Things I like about Firefox over Chrome:

- Memory management is much, much better
- Uhh...

Tried that last week and it didn't work with Java properly (I spend a lot of time in Oracle), Adobe Reader (I print quite a few reports), and stupid Rapport software necessary to get into secure banking sites wouldn't recognize IE.
