friggin sun is already dissing the 3rd line...
WTF it may be the best 3rd line this franchise (ATL/WPG2.0) has seen
and the season hasn't even started!!
I was reading one trade board post where one TO fan realized we had Antro and Poni together. He remarked how their O can be inssufficient (remember they were top line back then) but when they had the lead they would just cycle and no one could take the puck away. That's what I want/expect from this line... just a big efff you we're keeping the puck in this zone and not letting you score, Malkin/Crosby/Taveres/Toews/Stamkos/etc
The Sun has no idea what they are talking about. Our 3rd line is the part of this team I am most looking forward to watching today.
Growing up in northern Sweden, playing hockey in the streets wearing my Jets-cap, idolizing Selšnne(til I realized hes Finland). Its all coming back to me now when im moving through an ice cold Stockholm, wearing my Jets away jersey with a some beers in my bag, getting chills from the exitement alone to watch some Jets hockey again.... Lets go Jets! and lets kick some muther****ing Senator ass!!!!!
at 6-8 mins a game (just guessing) they will likely not being scoring much even if they are scoring at high rates...
2 pts/60 mins is just over top6 average, so with that scoring rate they'd be posting a point as a line every 3 games(ish)
Oh trust me, I don't expect them to. I'm just trying to figure out what the reaction would be (coaching staff, media, etc), if they manage to get some great puck luck and exceed their expected shooting percentages, etc.
I think the media would have a bit of a meltdown - would be fun to see.
3 hours to go!!! I've snow-blowed and shoveled, cleaned up after the dogs, and now have to help Mrs. Monty with the housekeeping for the next hour or so - and then she's going out shopping and leaving me to watch hockey for the next 5 hours. WOO HOO!!!
Just me and the animals and some beers and 15000 of my closest friends watching the Jets kick the crap out of the Sens!
5-1 for the Jets, Antro, Poni, Wheeler and Buff with two round out the scoring.
Oh, and I'll take 2 minutes BEFORE the game for some sour grapes posting about the Jets fans engaging in "classless" booing.
I really hope they won't disappoint. This is exactly the sort of game that they couldn't seem to win last season. They were good at digging themselves out of holes but when they had the chance to go over the top a bit they always seemed to start on the next hole. So if they win today it will be a big psychological step (for me at least!) Good luck -- wish I were there -- ordered my Jets@Leafs ticket last night for their visit in March!
Today is the 17th anniversary of a sad day in Winnipeg hockey history:
January 19, 1996 NHL approves move of Winnipeg Jets to Phoenix
We can all relish the Jets 2.0 even more today!
Now just drop that damn puck, already!!!! Heading to the game in 45 mins with my son. That's the part i frick'n love the most, taking my son to a Jets game. Absolutely priceless. Let's hope for a big win, but if not, it's still fantastic in my books.
