I don't see Erixon not making it to be a huge deal, but I've always thought he was a bit overrated personally.

Columbus...as bad as it is, is still an NHL team with an NHL roster.

Plus, I thought that their GM said that defense was their strongest point in terms of players and prospects, if that is even remotely true, I can see why he didn't make the team.

No, he's not a bust. I think it's escaped you that Columbus has pretty good defense. That's understandable considering last year's opening lineup consisted of Grant Clitsome, Radek Martinek, Marc Methot, Kris Russell, David Savard and Fedor Tyutin. Fast forward a year and you're looking at:

Johnson - Wiz
Tyutin - Nikitin
Moore - Aucoin
Savard

The top two pairings were set. Aucoin was brought in to mentor the young guys (Moore, Savard, Erixon) as they make the transition. Two of the three were going to stay up and the other one was going down. Moore played 25 minutes a night some games for the Jackets and Savard has plenty of experience himself. I'm not surprised Erixon didn't beat either of them out. Nor do I think he looks like a bust.

It's too early to tell. He really needs to bulk up though. A 6'2" defenseman should weigh more than 190lbs.

contrary to popular belief, the CBJ blue-line is pretty decent. It has established player and a good mix of young players. 1 or 2 rookies wouldnt make it. This guy is a good prospect, nowhere close to a bust
