Sports "experts" always say that the hardest thing to do in all of sports is hit a fastball in baseball. I call ********, subtly and accurately deflecting a slap shot is significantly more difficult. Going just as fast, from closer, and trying to just change the direction a little bit, not stop it.
Pittsburgh fails to score on a 5 min powerplay vs. the Islanders. How are the Penguins always so bad on the PP? They have the 2 best players in the world.
Someone on the main board said Vanek is as inconsistent and injury prone as Patrick Marleau. Vanek is off to a hot start and I expect Boston fans to call Buffalo "classless" due to the timeout call.
Marleau's been called a lot of things, but injury prone is one of the least accurate things I've heard.
Patrick Marleau has played the most regular season games since he came into the league of anyone in the NHL. Lidstrom is second with 4 less games than Marleau (as of the beginning of this season, for clarity's sake). Injury-prone is literally the worst descriptor of Marleau I've ever heard.

I wouldn't call him injury prone, but he's played large parts of seasons with major injuries to both shoulder and knee.

Last one I remember was the end of 08-09. Am I just not remembering others? They can't have been that serious if he's playing through them in non-playoff games.

Hes been banged up but no more than anyone else..when I hear injury prone I think of Havlat or Ricky DiPietro.

I'm sick and not going to look it up now. One is the year your thinking about and the other was 10-11 I believe. Could be the season before.
I'm not into getting into how bad they were as I'm not up for an argument. Maybe another time.
