I can't wait till he signs in MTL

Unless Bergevin was lying he's said multiple times they have no intention on trading P.K. and the number 1 priority is to get him signed.

Mtl has Beaulieau, Tinordi, Thrower and Ellis as D prospects already, don't really think they're interested in more.....

NO!

No offense Habs fans, I'm not saying no as in he's a bad player, in case you guys would start saying "better than anyone Pittsburgh has right now", I just don't like him.

Despres can play now. The 1st doesn't need to be spent on a defenseman. So, really, it's Harrington that's objectionable then?

FYI, I don't either, but I also think a punch to the back of Giroux's head or a slew foot of Hartnell might change my mind.

Just like it was Shero's priority to sign, Staal.

Stuff happens.

Not the greatest comparison. Staal wasn't a case of money or perceived value. He signed in Carolina the exact contract Shero had offered him a few weeks before.

Staal was 3rd on the depth chart for centres. A little different than P.K., don't you think?

It's different, but I don't think that's why. Shero offered him the same 10 year, 60M deal he signed in Carolina after the trade.

As for P.K., I meant no offense with the trade proposal, and, of course, it was premised on the 'if he were to be traded' idea.

EDIT: I'm guessing that I should interpret the lack of immediate outrage as a sign that the proposal itself is not unreasonable.

As a Habs fan I'd have no interest in doing that deal. If PK were to be dealt I'd want atleast an established young NHL player coming back and preferably from a Western conference team.

Yeah, in interest in P.K. whatsoever.

P.K. Subban is a talented defenseman, but his value is too much. Montrčal would want a player like James Neal in return.

Make that Letang and a 2nd and you have a deal!

No interest in the OP's offer. Despres and Harrington are indeed nice *prospects*. But there is no guarantee either makes an impact in the NHL, and the Habs need what Subban can do right away.

If subban is traded it will be in a 1 on 1 trade not a bunch of player for one ...
Something like

Pk vs ROR
Pk vs yakupov
Pk vs Kane
Pk skinner
Etc

I put 1on1 trade but some low pick or prospect can be add but the mane piece will be youngster like this .. Despres is good but will never be pk same for Harrington and the 1 round pick we don't know who it is so no deal

How about Brandon Sutter then? I'd rather fix the defense and stick Jeffrey into Sutter's spot (Staal's old spot) than continue to see us unravel in the defensive zone.

The caveat would be that you have to take Paul Martin, as well.

So, Sutter and Martin for Subban.

I don't think I'd do this. Hjalmarsson is awesome, but I'm not sure. I'd want a little something extra coming back to MTL considering the ages of the key pieces. Hayes and Gallagher seem close to a wash.

But it's very close.

A shutdown pairing of Gorges - Hjalmarsson has me drooling though.

Wow, just like everyone else, I'm surprised to find out that Hossa is 34. Plays like he's 28.

I'd do that deal in a heartbeat if Eller could learn how to play wing.

Maybe because he's missed so much time to injury that his body isn't broken.
