Fog Devils back in business

Good to see St.John's is getting their hockey team. CHL hockey is the best brand next to the NHL, IMO. Congrats Newfoundlanders.

I agree,good deal.
Newfoundlanders like all Canadians love the sport and deserve high calibre hockey in their back yard.

I had a feeling that this was going to get done. I mean the two sides where arguing over a few hundread thousand dolars. I don't think they wanted to use mile one for Pee Wee hockey for a year over a such a small amount of money. This is really good news. I hope Crosby decides to play another year of junior hockey . I wonder what ticket prices will be like. They will probably be the highest prices in the league but should still be cheaper then AHL. I got to start looking into what our roster might look like next year.

To bad they aren't going to go with my team name that I wanted. I wanted the name of the team to be The St. John's Ocean Rangers.

What do you think of the Ocean Rangers? I am not sure if I would by a jersey if they are going to keep the name Fog Devils  .

I'm happy for richardn, and find it a shame that Frankie will be too busy watching his Fog Devils *snigger* to find out who Hopped on Pop.

Fog Devils isn't a very good name, but it's far from the worst I've heard.

I refuse to believe Fog Devils was the best name they could come up with. However, congratulations to St. John's are in order.

They had a contest open to the people to submit a team name and I think they took all the names and picked the one they liked best. The winner got season tickets.

eddiedaeagle20.........

I'm happy for the people of St.John's........I think they got a raw deal from the Toronto Maple Leafs........they were drawing great there and had tremendous fan support for the Baby Leafs on the Rock!.........

Let's hope for the Maple Leafs sake that Toronto embraces the Baby Leafs and post up much better attendance numbers for AHL hockey, better than what they drew last season down at the Ricoh Coliseum.

Tehy weren't drawing that great at all and Toronto did the best thing for the main club by bringing the farm team home.

Master of Puppets.........

Exactly.........that's why I'm hoping for the Maple Leafs sake that we don't see a repeat again of pathetic AHL attendance figures down at the Ricoh Coliseum like we saw last season.........If there's still an NHL lockout for next season they should do ok I think........it still remains to be seen if Toronto would embrace the Baby Leafs like they do with the parent club from the ACC.......I can't wait to see what happens when the Baby Leafs have to go up against the Maple Leafs for the support of the Toronto people.........it will be then and there that we will once and for all know if Toronto is a good hockey town OR just a plain good Maple Leafs town.

We will see. I don't think it will do as well as everyone thinks. Just my opoinion and the attendance was fine here considering the teams we had here over the last decade. Better then the leage average.
