Nick Leddy showed specificly why he should have stayed in the A. Two goals that were his fault, both times, for being over powed off the puck. He earned his -2 with his disgusting display. To shame he embarrassed himself on natyonal TV.
All in all, the Kings just wernt up to snuff any why should they be? Crawford had a bunch of help in front of him unless the Brookfail/Leddy pairing was on the ice.
PRO- Kruger, holy hell, this didn't look like the same player from last year, played well on both ends of the ice, and really made an impact on this game. Needs to work on his FO still.
CON - Shaw, he looked lost and out of place, not sure he is an NHL C. Didn't seem sure of his responsibilities and what he should be doing out there.
CON - The Bickell, Shaw, Stalberg line, not that they are bad players, Shaw having a bad game doesn't help but that line seems to be a mismatched of styles and skills, a speed demon, grinder and power forward doesn't make a ton of sense.
PRO- Hammer, he was everywhere doing everything tonight. He played extremly well on his own zone, blocking shots, winning pucks, getting the puck out of the zone looked like the 2010 Hammer. What made his game even better.
CON- Oduya, made a few bad plays, turned the puck over, lost some battles, not a strong game from him. Got bailed out a few times by Hammer.
CON- Brookbank, he didn't look good out there in either end, maybe needs to get used to new system and teammates but hopfully he can get better.
PRO- PK, the PK looked good, active players and sticks, getting in lanes, moving people out of the crease. It was what you want to see from the PK.
CON - PP, other then the 5-3 goal it looks no different, hard time getting the puck in the zone, too many passes, not enough shots, not enough net presence, and the wrong personal. Stalberg shouldn't be in front of the net and Shaw and Stalberg should never be 2/3 of your PP forward unit.
PRO- Hossa, looked in med-season form and looks to be totally healthy, good to see he hadn't lost anything since the hit. I was honestly worried about him but he looked great. Will be a big piece of this team this year.
PRO/CON- Crawford, played well, made some good saves at some key times. The con were the goals. If the game was 2-2 people would be more upset about the goals. Has to see the puck on the first goal, to at least react to the shot and not stand there. The 2nd goal he had to get off his ###, yes he was knocked over but get up. Nitpicking here but again both goals could have been prevented.
All in all though a good win, and a great way to start the season. But I won't take 1 game as a whole season, some things to be worked on and some areas to improve.

Phenomenally terrible evaluation of Leddy. At least you got Hossa right.
