Irwin obviously learned from Vlasic. Nice win to start off the season.

I think Robinson yelled at Niemi in the sauna.

For some reason I assumed this game was going to be at 7 pacific. Didn't realize it was an away game.

Sounds like it was a good one though!

Our defense in general was pretty great. Really liked Stuart too. He and Irwin play kind of a similar game. The first two lines were good, too. Clowe looked a little faster.

Couldn't really tell with our 3rd and 4th lines, they seemed a little discombobulated.

I think Robinson was probably our best off-season move... I'm really looking forward to seeing how much they all develop working with him.

Edged out the other 4-1 predictions by virtue of having two correct goalscorers as opposed to just one. Congrats on your first solo SNOG win, and for kicking off the season in style!

Obvious Robinson watched the 1st then told them they suck and we won.

I guess it's one game, but Handzus didn't look bad. I think he's okay so far this year.

McLaren is a 4th line forward. He has the least TOI among forwards playing tonight.

That's odd, I thought he was effective on the PK tonight, at least as far as my faulty memory tells me. He certainly has the skillset to pressure.

I obviously meant among the top six. Clowe usually has the least minutes among top six forwards since he doesn't play PK and Marleau plays in every situation.

Funny, I've always considered him the Sharks best PKing forward.

Ahhh. Gotcha. Sorry about that.
Yeah, it's weird but hey, a better rested Marleau is more effective

not tonight for some reason, other then power play minutes (2nd among forwards), he was dead last in every other situation time wise.

I guess to explode on the opposition whenever he happened to get out there?

Worth mentioning, Irwin logged over 19 minutes, ahead of Stuart, Braun, and Murray. Kid's a player.

Robinson must have listened to Roenick about how crappy and unreliable Marleau is.

I don't care who is on the PK as long as it is successful.

Glad to see NHL hockey again. I was starting to wonder if 4-1 games in NHL13 was realistic or not. Good stuff from Irwin on D and liked to see Galiardi play scrappy again. Good game after that first period. Solid finish.
