Can't believe people were ripping Galchenyuk's skating during the WJC.
Currently leading our team in points for forwards.
To be fair, that was one fast USA team. He really seems to have turned it up a notch in the NHL, playing unreal right now. Gallagher wasn't really known for his speed either if I remember correctly but they look like the two fastest forwards out there right now.
Wow. This kid is special. Hardly a shift goes by that something positive doesn't happen once the puck touches his stick. Unreal vision and anticipation and elite level acceleration.
This one is unique as an 18 year old. We haven't seen this before, and I for one am enjoying watching his creations on every shift.
He is 4th in rooke scoring too (with Gallagher right behind), and the top guys are 21-22-23 years old. Granted, I don't think Schultz or Conacher (wtf?) will keep up those paces and it's Tarasenko's to lose, but interesting none the less.
It's very exciting to watch both Gallys and, yes, DD really sucks right now but MT needs to resist moving AGally up and let them blossom on the third line. The defensive coverage is easier for them and AGally has been brutal in the faceoff circle. I love his enthusiasm but he needs to settle down and not rush his plays. On Cole's goal, all three forwards were so close to the net that if the puck bounces out the Jets probably get a 3-on-1 and everybody looks bad.
I'm just saying let's relax and enjoy the show. Makes me cringe that our fickle fans keep voting for both Gallys in the star selection just like they picked Price every single game last year no matter how he played. Let's just calm down and enjoy a star in the making.
So glad with the youth movement. Now, if we could only take out the trash on D and make space for Tinordi next year, that would be awesome.
That saucy pass he made to Prust, on the shot that hit the cross-bar. I think that's where fans will really start to love him, especially when his teammates finish off plays and score those goals. He's a very smart hockey player on top of being skilled. That's a dangerous combination, especially at the age of 18 - considering he has a ceiling he's not even begun to scrape just yet.
Yup - to me that was his best play of the game. The way he picked up speed through the neutral zone, stepped around the defender and fed Prust who was all alone, was amazing.
I love that he seems to be getting more comfortable. Even if it failed, I'm happy he tried that dangle on Buf.
I'm still waiting for a video of that pass to Prust. Nothing on youtube! Nothing on the TSN or RDS or NHL website highlights. Do I really need to watch Canadiens Express? haha.

Not saying he didn't merit one last night, but they really need to stop having the fans vote for the 3 stars. Plus I think you can start voting in the second if I'm not mistaken.
That doesn't sound right. I vividly remember him losing at least one near the end of the third. Good to know he's already improving, though. Smart kid.

We are on the PP. That's the right way to play: crashing the nets with the man advantage.

Gally might not have been at his rightful position, but the team won the damn thing. So, I don't think you can call it a mistake.
And to your credit this is all true. But if he actually centered his line at the juniors, maybe Michel Therrien would of used him in his natural position from the start. Who knows, at least Therrien is willing to unbend and make line changes, with the struggles of the first line, this was an opportunity for Galchenyuk to prove himself and he is showing he is a top class centerman.
Anyone still think he'd be learning more 'dominating' in Sarnia as opposed to the 10-12 mins a game he's getting now?
Anybody?
The people who said things like that may not have known how well
the habs would start the season. Many things work better in this type of
winning environment.
I for one, hope that they manage this kid carefully when the team
has it's first letdown, or he does. Still he might as well learn about that
part of being a pro now, and get that behind him.
But don't get my wrong, I think anyone claiming to have known it
would go this well is a complete joke.

The people that wanted him to go back down simply cared about his 1st year of ELC that was going to be used. Like who cares about that he will get paid a little more in 3 years and then still will sign eventually an 8th year deal here. Kids not going anywhere

The structure of your post is very weird, I couldn't even concentrate on what you wrote.
