The Leafs play really well for the first 4 or 5 games of the season. That's about the time the 18 wheeler starts heading for the cliff.

You didn't answer anything. If you can't gauge a player's game, then I'm not surprised by your reaction.

And I answered your question about laughably predictable. You also indirectly answered my question about reading comprehension.

You need to stop being so upset about one loss. It's very childish of you to try and take your frustrations out on me, but it's ok I can take it.

Coach isn't saying yet. I suspect Luongo.

Man oh man. I think it will have to be schneider (my opinion). The entire team better wake up because the oilers are absolutely deadly. That offense could make the best goalie look bad. If Schneider can't hold the fort tomorrow night, our media is going to be in elite circus mode. For the sanity of this entire team, every single player on that team and cory better show up tomorrow night.

Oh so were paying him 2.5m for that, why not bring back Johnson from retirement so he can take faceoffs and block shots then lol.

We can get a player of his ilk at leauge mininum, what makes Malhotra so special?

I know he seems like a great guy and all that, but I'd rather have an ******* who does his job well than pay Malhotra 2.5m to take faceoffs.... but thats just me.

AV freaks out and swears far too much at the players as it is. They've had enough... they play for themsleves not the coach.

As mentioned the perfect start to the season for this team.

From an emotional standpoint, AV seems too passive in this regard. Sure, he can single out players and admonish them, ala Ballard, but he needs to broaden his net so to speak.
If memory serves me correctly Canucks have had a losing start to their seasons for as long as Ive watched them. Who knows why this is (maybe Luongos slow starts)and frankly its a non issue for me as long as the season overall ends well.

Whether they suck at the beginning, middle or end is largely irrelevant. Its not like they can win a whole lot more during the regular season as they have in the last two years.

As for AVs emotional response we have no idea what goes on behind the closed doors. What we do know is he will let the players work it out themselves first. Does that means he never gets involved? We have no idea.

I simply dont see more wins being eked out by having a more emotional coach.

Well, it looks like the lower seeded team has won 11 of the 21 playoff series after the first round during the last three years, as well as 2 of the last 3 Stanley Cup finals.

Finishing lower is not a strategy you want to try for, but it apparently has a limited effect on success.

I'd like for the Canucks to storm out of the gate every season, but apparently it's not going to happen based on past history. Given that is probably going to be the case, I'm not going to worry about things too much as long as they play well enough in time to make the playoffs.

You rarely start the same goalie on back-to-back games, so I'd think it would be Luongo. The only reason they might start Schneider is if they want to give him the chance for an immediate bounceback game.

ok three stars of the game, wasn't easy choosing these three, had to eliminate Weddick, D Sedin, and others...

1) Jannik Hansen
2) Selaney
3) Alexander Edler

He said on after hours tonight that he didn't say anything to them because they're a veteran bunch and can work it out themselves.

Luongo played more time than Schneider. I think the original plan was to put Luongo against the Oilers, but if they do that now with both goalies having played equally bad, it wouldn't be good for Schneider's confidence.
