What a bust, ECHL it is

sami will make the team next year as long as he doesn't bring DSP's attitude of thinking he's already there, regardless of attitude

Who knows. Maybe he plays 20 years without giving any goals.

So he's going to be playing for some other team in the NHL soon enough?

I promise you that there will be some goals scored against him. We will see how bad he really is. Because he so bad defensively. Really, he is a liability. He is so small and tiny and and.......

Yes. One has to be reelistic in things like this. You cannot have a goal scored when you are on the ice. If one goal would be scored, Vats will become defensive reeliability.

I have mixed feelings about the verb 'manhandle'. It has a gayish vibe to it. "To be handled by a man called BIG JOE".

On a more serious note, I have a feeling we might see Vats having a game or two in the playoffs depending on what type of teams we're up against. Sami did well against both Columbus and Minnesota but hasn't seen Detroit yet. I predict Vatanen plays in one of the first home games, and it will be against Detroit. What happens after that remains to be seen. Sbisa is still out so who knows. Our PP could really use his QB skills.

Good overall performance in Vancouver the other night, solid defensive game with some unsheltered minutes.

I have been following his latest performances, and it so obvious that he needs atleast 2-4 years of seasoning in the ahl, to learn how to cope with these manly and big forwards in the nhl. He really is a liability out there.

Vatanen isn't immune to criticism, some of these posts are pathetic. You sound like Pittsburgh fans with their whole uncle Gary helped us ********.

Wounded? not at all

but funny that some "critics" can't handle a comment like that. Some of you guys needs to chill out.

Btw I am not totally fanboying Vatanen here. I know his defensive game needs improvement. Though IMO some critic has been exaggerated in Sami's case.

Its obviouse that the "critcists" are overdoing what they do here. If anyone says anything positive about Vatanen, its "stupid" or too much, even though't he has already proven he can play in NA rinks and NA style. It show how seriouse things are when it comes to positive side of the things. Instead, you can put unlimited amount of negative eenok / vatanen stuff and its ok.

Btw Ducks without Whatanen tonight and we lose.

There has actually been plenty of positive things written about Vatanen since coming back to the NHL in the team forum actually. So please give the whole 'no-one is allowed to praise' Vatanen thing a rest, it's tiresome.

People, including myself are just getting a bit tired of all the snide and overboard posts made about Vatanen because of people's perfectly valid concerns from his play earlier in the season.

This all started when a Finnish poster created eenok and went totally over the top with it. Others tried having an intelligent exchange with him but were just mocked and met with over the top fanboyism. It was quite pathetic.

Nobody has been negative towards Sami anywhere near the stupidity of the eenok posts. But people have tried to point out both sides of what Sami brings including his defensive shortcomings.

I'd suggest you closet eenoks are the ones who need to chill out.

Lol...Says the guy who "doubted he'd ever make it as a solid defenseman". How's that one working out for you?

Did Vatanen make it as a solid defenseman while we weren't looking?

And by the way, your ad hominem butthurtery proves his point.

He's shown what he's capable at the age of 21...He's only going to get better as he gets older.

Haters gonna hate...Go Vats!!
