Yakupov is interesting from a Habs point of view, just the fact that him and Galchenyuk could turn out to be Montreal's 1st line with Pacioretty for the future.
But Subban is key to success for the future. The Habs are adding pieces each year that you need to complete a core for a contender.

Avs get a big seasoned offensive Defenseman in his prime to play with EJ on the 1st pairing.
Edler has 1 year left on his contract (but colorado would have plenty of cash to throw at him in the offseason)
O'Reilly is a current RFA.
Maybe picks can be sent one way or the other to even things up.

I am sorry but, Pacioretty is and never will be a franchise player. Decent 1st line winger, sure. Franchise player?
I have no idea where to start with a trade prop for Kulikov. If I'm the Wings, maybe start with something around Tatar and Oullete? Again, don't know much about the Panthers needs. Hard to make a good value judgement.

Maybe throw in Schroeder as well. Avs get the best player in the deal, but ya contract issues. I don't see why Edler wouldn't take a long term 6-6.5M deal playing with a great partner, on a competent franchise like the Avs.

Panthers need something up the middle potentially. Crowded with wingers and centers that should otherwise be wingers.

Biggest problem with this proposal is Edmonton isn't acquiring Toby Petersen in the deal. Do you really think Edmonton could have Craig MacTavish in a position of power and not acquire Petersen!?! Who will run Edmonton's power-play without him?!
