This could be a real statement game early on, if we jump on Van early and often there could be trouble in Vancouver. That said if the lineup remains the same as it's been speculated to be and the score is out of hand are we equipped to deal with the rough stuff?

Yesterday was an awesome day of hockey. Gamecenter is going to be the best purchase i've ever made. I feel like a kid during christmas right now. I dreamed about the oilers last night and woke up in a great mood. I missed NHL hockey so much.

My current schedule and being out east makes it difficult to put GDTs up on the weekdays. If there isn't one when I get home around 1pm MT I'll throw one together, but we're HFOil and not having a GDT up within moments after midnight is unheard of.

This is very true. The Sedins are the consistent robots that don't seem to elevate their game to the next level during the playoffs, but Kesler is the engine that this team runs on. We need him healthy and in 10-11 form or we are going nowhere in the playoffs.
Can you imagine the reaction in both cities' media if we beat Vancouver like 8-1 or something?

This is exactly how i'm envisioning this game going down today. Schneider gets chased from the net, then Luongo gets chased as well. Schneider finishes the game in shame in front of all the remaining Oilers fans in the building. I laugh myself to sleep.

They can all throw big hits, that doesn't change regardless of who is in the lineup. Mark Fistric on the 3rd pairing or Hordichuk on the 4th line isn't going to prevent Alex Edler or Lapierre from trying to land some hits on our team.
By the way, I want Fistric in the lineup tonight because Corey Potter isn't NHL player material. But not because of a lack of toughness. Vancouver isn't going to goon it up.

Hopefully the Oilers light up the Nucks tonight but in my eyes this team is just two rookies different than last year.
We wll win 4-2 taylor with a hatty! Our forward group is superior the nuck except the twinsisters who hasnt played hockey due the lockout. The only thing who can stop a oiler win is a defence meltdown. Cant wait for the game to start (3 in the night here). My wife has asked whats wrong with me all day. Vancouver has a really deep set of defencemen (I'd love to bring in Ballard even though he's still struggling a bit) but their forwards look fairly weak. Beyond the first line, there really isn't much all that scary. They kind of remind me of Calgary in that they have a lot of tweener forwards (ie. Higgins) but not a lot of true top line talent.
It will be interesting to see if our top end forwards can beat their defencemen.
