You just know both Yakupov and Schultz are going to score.

Don't think I can watch this game because of how badly I wanted Schultz in the summer... Sigh.

Best outcome would be Garrison scoring a couple and Schultz getting minuses on both.

Yakupov's favorite team and player was Vancouver and Bure. That would suck too.

I don't care how many points or goals the other 3 scores.

The Garrison signing definitely took away some of that pain but what a coup if we had both on our blueline. Jesus.

We can't keep losing like this. It's time for a serious shakeup. Break up the Sedins and start Lack in goal - it's our only hope of salvaging the season!

Luongo should start, as was planned. You can't make this a true meritocracy because Schneider would play that much less, but you have to be quicker with the hook IMO. You have the advantage of two top goalies (allegedly), use it.

How do you know that was planned? Are you going by av comments about what he traditionally did on back to back games?

Put 2 goalies in net and be done with it.
Nucks win 18-0 (shutouts for both goalies)
End of discussion.
Now go home, be with your families.

Yes. That's what he has said, and what he has traditionally done. AV's a creature of habit.

He sure is a creature of habit, but after pulling Schneider last night he'll have to consider what kind of message he wants to send.

It would be an easy call had Schneider finished the game, but even if it was only one game AV might have to give his future no. 1 goalie a chance to redeem himself right away. Schneider needs to get used to the pressure of being the starter asap. He sure looked more nervous last night than he usually does. Mind you he played during the lockout, so he was not off to a cold start. This season is a whole new situation. If the Canucks want to go with him, he needs as much ice time as possible to settle into his new role. Starting tonight.

much prefer Lapierre centering the second line and Ebbett on the third or below.

Don't know why Lappy is getting skimmed over in this whole missing 2nd line center situation.

We've known him to be solid defensively for us with the occasional offensive contribution.

Ebbett is just... 4th line center material.

Actually it was a guy who wore number 99 that made that statement a few days ago. Sounds like he took one to many head shots during his career

Glad they have another game today against a team that's almost the exact opposite of the Ducks. Small, speedy young team with suspect D and goaltending vs Huge, hulking veteran laden with solid D and goaltending.

Will be interesting to see how they handle them. Key is the Canucks need to focus on their game ESPECIALLY their breakout which was abysmal last night.

Well then you should be happy that his line is being treated like a 4th line. They barely played yesterday.

Not sure what to expect tonight. Not sure if it is just a question of the guys not being in game shape or if we're starting to see the start of the decline in the Canucks dominance. Sure it was only the first game but that looked an awful lot like the first round against L.A.

All I know is that drop pass at the blue line while on a PP is not going to work this year. It's not 2010 anymore and most teams know exactly what we're doing. Time to change it up.

my money's on oilers.. looking at their forward line up compared to ours... my god. Ebbet makes everything look bad. F that guy as our 2nd line center.

I find it amusing that people single out the drop pass when they had a ton of other great entries and scored 2 PP goals. Also, this team always starts out poorly. But I'm sure THIS is finally the time that it's for real and not just the usual poor start.

Well I predicted a 6-2 Ducks win last game with a Selanne hatty and was close.

For this game I have to say a 4-3 Oilers game leaving everyone in Vancouver in a mass panic. Ebbet coughs up the puck in our on zone in last minute to Yakupov who snipes one top right corner above Schnu. This is preceded by people in the streets burning there Ebbet jerseys, turning into a mass riot which will later be dubbed the receding hairline riot.
