I know that this means nothing in the end, but some of our players should get some serious consideration when it comes to the yearly awards
Keith should get some Norris consideration
Crawford has all the numbers you need to win the Vezina
Saad is a great player and moves up the rookie rankings and the Calder could end up with his name if he keeps this great scoring streak. He is already 4th in rookie scoring and the 3 guys above him don't play on the PK and have a worse +/-
Toews should finally get his Selke trophy. Only Bergeron could win it if not him or they hand it to Datsyuk because of his reputation
(while checking Toews stats, he is a +19 player. At home, he is overall a +1... away, he is +18
Kane already gets Hart consideration and with Crosby being out, he should keep his pace and score
Coach Q could get some Adams votings, but the Adams will go to the Habs

I'm not expecting anything. Keith and Crawford won't even get nominated for their individual awards, but Saad might. Toews has a shot at the Selke for sure.
He most certainly should. I don't think he should win it, but he should be in the conversation. Seabrook's been on and off, but Keith's been consistently good. He's tied for 8th in defenisve scoring. He's having a very good year, despite fans ripping him on the PP.
So, anyone that brushes Saad's production aside because he plays with Toews/Hossa should pay attention to that. Not to mention, since Hossa went down on the 18th, Saad has 5 points (2G, 3A) in 5 games.

There's an awful lot of homerism in your post there Keith isn't a Norris candidate and Crawford isn't a Vezina candidate.

I think Hammer has been better this year than Keith. If you can play with Oduya for much of the season and still manage a + 11, then you're doing something right

The rest - sure they could happen.
Why isn't Crawford a Vezina candidate? The Vezina is 98% stat based.

Yep, Hammer's been the most consistent, reliable Dman on the Hawks.. but, you can't win the Norris without scoring at significant pace.
lol how can you sit there with a straight face and say suter has played better than weber? its 100% untrue. have you watched any of the wild or preds? weber is STILL better
other than Suter and Beauch, there is no DMen playing as good as Keith in all 3 zones.
Subban and Letang are offense only in terms of playing elite. Weber sucks this year without Suter and Chara gets outplayed by Seidenberg
huh no. Don't know much about Letang but Subban's a real stud. He's out best defensive dman, is constant game after game and put real good points on the board so yes I think he should get nominated for the norris but not only because of his offensive. I mean yes he's an OFD but getting better and better every year on the defensive side of the game and becoming one of the best TWD in the league
Casual fans will always like the Brent Seabrook to Duncan Keith, the Dion Phaneuf to Andrei Markov, the Shea Weber to Ryan Suter, the Nicklas Kronwall to Dan Boyle, Alex Edler to Dan Hamhuis, ect. I prefer the latter. Big hits and bad positioning isn't good defense.
Weber is unique because he can play a physical game and still not be bad positionally like Phaneuf/Kronwall, but Suter plays a unique game as well, being elite positionally and with his stick. They are extremely close and always have been. Before 2010-11, Suter was usually said to be better than Weber BY PREDS FANS. Seriously, I remember always reading the "we watch them play - we are Preds fans and Suter is better" all the time. It is extremely close IMO and anyone who says otherwise clearly doesn't watch.
As for who has been better this year, Ryan Suter and it really shouldn't be debated. As a CenterIce, hockey obsessed fan with a big screen/every game in HD...it is closer than people would give credit to last year(I'd lean Weber) and this year it has easily been Suter. He has better helped his team win and has been more impressive.

not sure how many games you've seen, but just go out and watch some more to see that Suter is outplaying Weber by a good margin.
