It's depressing how much this makes sense. ^^^

I can't find it anywhere, but didn't they update the logos because of the feedback they got? Like put in some outlines and stuff like that.

Personally if it's the D (teehee) I'd be ecstatic. I've been wanting a jersey like that ever since I think ColeJ posted a concept of a black sweater with that on it. It'd be a timeless look, and very recognizable.

EDIT: Sauron's a step ahead of me. Like them a lot.

If you don't like Torch's take I wouldn't be too concerned unless you hate the entire idea and not just the execution. I doubt they would publicly release rejected concepts, twice, if their firm had been selected to make the final version. Oftentimes it isn't until many years in the future, if ever, that that sort of thing makes it to the light of day from the people who were actually responsible for a design.

I didn't care for the first versions from Torch, but these are quite a bit better. The D is acceptable as is, and the Texas one is pretty good but would be better with out the roundy soft corners. I'm not super thrilled about these, but they are a million times better than the monochrome junk we have now that could be done in Microsoft Office '95. Also, if the final version is as improved over this as this is over the first Torch version, then I'm prety hopeful..

Thats what I meant to say rather than "Inside Edge" - Torch Creative. Not a fan of those particular ones.

He did mention one color in the striping. Not sure if thats the only color (which would be kind of weird to me) or if he just mentioned it and omitted the other/s. It was one of our colors we already use though. Wasn't red or blue or anything.

Whoever it was that you talked to (Heika or other), can you give us their impression of the new look?

It was someone much higher up than Heika

They themselves were excited, of course.

I talked to a player and although he didnt want to say much, his facial expression and hesitance was unsettling haha. One man's opinion though so who knows.

I think TJ has had a few chats with Gaglardi if I remember correctly.

everything I've learned today about the new logo has been 'unsettling' lol

Hopefully it blows Torch's design out of the water...they used way too much black in that logo anyway

That was the word used, yes. So from that, and the fact they're "clean, simple, and vintage looking.", leads me to believe we're free of all that horizontal piping crap. Which is good.

Sorry to keep you guessing boys. I'm trying to walk that fine line between discussing and fully indulging what I know. I'm a fan and I'm excited so I couldn't help but say a little somethin somethin. But I just don't want to betray any trust. Any more than I may have already anyways.

My opinion on the Torch Creative symbol is that it was just thrown out there as a starting point for some feedback. From what I saw on Twitter, however limited, the feedback wasn't good. I doubt they would throw THE symbol out there like that.

Maybe it's wishful thinking anyways. Hopefully they changed it up quite a bit.

The new one definitely looks better even with such a minor addition.

Which is the revised? I like the one with the larger white star rather than the black inside. Not a huge fan of either really. Cant say either is better than the current symbol.

I really, really hope our logo isn't a big D.

Kinda been done already, y'know?

Exactly. I said this when those first "leaked". Absolutely hate that concept.

These are some D concepts floating around the web, one's even from 2011, but it gets the point across how lousy a D with a Star can be...some of these are borderline North Stars ripoffs...

So now the question is would we rather have a logo reminiscent of Anaheim, or old Minnesota?

I've seen a couple concepts out there with the Mooterus' horns turned upwards and it's actually decent. I guess we'll just have to keep our fingers crosses until June 4th or until Piqued decides to go rebel and leak as much info as possible

I'm really not worried. Almost anything is going to be an improvement.
