If the Stars trainers can keep Kari Lehtonen from regressing to the conditioning he had during his Thrashers days, they should have no problem with a vet like Jagr, to ensure he stays in tip top shape.

One can only hope, anyways

He won the art ross last lockout shortened season, maybe he's got another one in him lol.
I was crazy happy to see how well he worked with Eriksson, putting up 4 points is Jagr being Jagr

I wonder where those people went that were claiming that Jagr wouldn't cut it in the NHL when he came back?

They're still kicking around, they came out late last season when Jagr got injured and struggled down the stretch playing hurt albeit.

If healthy, Jagr is going to be around PPG and possiblly be close to 55-60 Pts. It's not that he was tired and slow down the stretch as much as he was playing hurt. He was 240 lbs while he's (as he said it) 220-230 lbs this season. That will help him with his skating and stamina and his ability to avoid lower body injuries.

Yup and Jagr had some good chemistry with him and Eriksson. The way Jagr played last night, maybe the team can afford to take its time signing Benn.

Would Stars fans be upset if Been ends up centering the 2nd line with Whitney?

Last night Whitney looked out of place on the second line playing with Ryder and Eakin.

He looked out of place because of Wandell centering him, nothing to do with Ryder. Wandell I beyond terrible.

Would a first line of Eriksson, Roy and Jagr and a second line of Whitney, Benn and Ryder be good for the Stars?

Gully will try several different combos once Benn decides to return, and will stick with the one that works best.

He said on Dallas sports radio that he weighs 233 and wants to get up to 240, his playing weight last year.

Strange, Jagr is always saying something different about his weight. Just 2 months ago when he was playing in the Czech Extraliga, he shot a training video on his iPad and posted it on FB. Czech speaking fans said that in the video he himself said he was 100 kg which is basically 220 lbs. Unless he had a bountiful Christmas dinner, I don't see how he put on 13 lbs so quickly especially considering he was playing like 20-26 minutes a game over in the Czech Republic during the lockout and burning off those calories.

His face and upper body look a lot trimmer than last season.

If you look at this video, you will see Jagr looks a lot trimmer. There is a part in the video where he flexes his bicep and it looks a lot smaller than last season with the Flyers as the example here.

Before:

After:

He looked trimmer even when he arrived to the Dallas training camp.

What is it with guys that have a Jagr reference in their username always seem to study his "flexing biceps" or how toned is inner thigh is?

Not singling you out livewell, just in general.

Jagr looked as good as I've seen him look in 7 years last night. He split the D and danced the goaltender one other time to have a third goal stolen from him by a desperation play from Zbynek Michalek. Would have had a 5 point night.

I personally don't care how he looks as long as he can play well. I was only trying to prove a point that he has shed the weight from last season. A lighter, trimmer Jagr means a faster, quicker more agile Jagr which should lead to a more successful Jagr as long as he can remain healthy.

Everyone was saying how he is too slow and too heavy for the NHL now but his weight and highlights from the Czech league during the lockout paint the opposite picture.

This shortened season could see Jagr really tearing it up from beginning to end. And lets not pretend that 35 games in the Czech league is anything like 35 games in the NHL in terms of wear-and-tear.

Lemme tell you something about Jagr.

Back in the 90s, the freaky Penguins with Mario, Jagr, Stevens, and all those other jerks rolled my beloved Bruins in a couple Conference Finals. They won handily, too. They were far better, and it hurt.

BUT...I was a Jagr fan from the first game I saw him play, and I´m still a Jaromir fan now. I wanted the B´s to nab him when he was ready to come back to the NHL.
Nice story

Thanks for sharing your view!

Guys, definitely you may not be worried about his weight. He is a true pro, his work ethic is incomparable among active players. I remember Philly players were stunned last year when they saw him training almost late at night. When he says he is ready it means 200% he is ready.
Just relax and enjoy watching him playing
