If he's expected to play 2C duties then SJ will be disappointed. 3C and they could have a fair deal.

Great teammate, extremely hilarious guy, but as a hockey player he sucks.

His passing is still NHL material, but nothing else his. As a matter of fact, his shot is borderline beer hockey league. Never seen anything so slow... Well, Georges Laraque.

Good for him. Is this to play 3C or wing? I know SJ has been after speedy wingers and I have no clue what their bottom six looks like.

Good for Gomez. Happy for him.

And as a Rangers fan, I'm glad both he and Redden are in the Western Conference this season

He still carries the puck and gains the zone very well, something we were sadly lacking last night without him and Subban (not that I thought we should keep him or anything, just an observation).

If I'm Todd McLellan, I bring out all his tapes from his Jersey days and show him exactly how his game changed. He was a beast with New Jersey and a guy I really wanted Toronto to sign in his free agency but we dodged a bullet there. But if there was always a sucker out there to give us a Ryan MacDonagh, I would have still loved to sign him.

Good for Scotty and SJ. I just hope it's for the league minimum, he doesn't deserve more money.

As per @tsnjfranklin, Gomez is in Calgary with the Sharks. As of late this am, no signed contract. Headed in that direction

No way, that's 0.75 points per game. Not a lot of players will even be able to put up 36.

probably whoever does better early. Handzus was terrible last year for personal reasons (which might have affected him physically too) but apparently he's like a new man this year. Cautiously optimistic, and he's still one of the slower players on the roster, but I'm not going to write him off like some others already are.

can't believe how his game has gone down from his devil days. Regardless let's hope he plays well, now that he isn't a habs

He'll be a 3C/4C, the deal is rumored to be 700K, and if he sucks the Sharks have replacements. They're not expecting a whole lot out of him.

Gomez' only useful skill left is to carry the buck through the neutral zone into the offensive zone. Then he'd suddenly turn absolutely useless and turn the puck over 4 times out of 5.
