You would have thought that Yakupov had scored the Cup winning goal there.

I don't understand why people rip on celebrations of all things

If Cherry rips on Yak for that God for bid a rookie shows some passion and emotion on a huge goal in his young career. He saved the game for the Oilers.

Both games were amazing.

For Sharks game.. they came back from behind to tie up with less than 7 minutes left in 3rd.

Jumbo Joe 9 points, Marleau 6G, 2A, Pavelski/Couture 8 points each.... all in just 3 games. What a home opener for Sharks fans.

I usually don't mind wild celebrations, but I thought it was just a bit over the top. But he gets a pass from me since this was his 2nd (?) NHL game.

He scored the goal with 5 seconds to go...if he doesn't score it's a shut out. I'd be excited too.

Great goal, great come back.

Stefan Matteau first one on the ice again for Devils' morning skate. Likes to get out there early.

Sounds like a boss.

Last NHL game: 12/3/11. Last win at Boston: 1/11/07. RT @NYIslanders: Rick DiPietro will start tonight.

Wow been a while for Rick

There is not a better way to tank than that.

Leafs should learn from that.

DiPietro is a very good goalie when he's healthy. His inability to stay healthy is his problem, which is a separate issue than from his talent level and\or performance. The latter indicates he is a #1 goaltender, of which he has shown 3 years of evidence for that.

I would not mind trading for him and a top prospect, which would otherwise not be available. This ultimatium sounds much more appealing than overpaying for Luongo while his team is in cap hell and their GM is in denial.

RDP hasn't been good for 5 years. He's not a #1 goalie anymore, even when he has been healthy for a couple of games, he's been terrible.

Tb @ Ott
Van @ Anh

Couple games I'm keeping an eye on. It's been a while since I've actually sat down and watched Stamkos play. Might be due.

Has anyone watched the 'Canes? How do they look?

Looked terrible their first two games. Didn't help that Ward didn't play well at all. Played well last night against Buffalo. Gonna take a bit for them to gel and get going.
