My current prediction for the playoffs (in no order for each section):

In:
New York Rangers
Pittsburgh Penguins
Boston Bruins
Ottawa Senators
New Jersey Devils

On the Bubble:
Tampa Bay Lightning
Carolina Hurricanes
Philadelphia Flyers

Montreal Canadiens
Buffalo Sabres

Out:
Winnipeg Jets
Toronto Maple Leafs
Florida Panthers
New York Islanders
Washington Capitals

Bolded teams are those who I think will end up making the playoffs ultimately. More/different teams could end up being on the bubble.

Really not sure about Philly making it though. A lot of their offense last year came from Giroux, Hartnell and Jagr. Jagr is gone and Hartnell is out for a good chunk of the season, I think they are going to struggle a lot to get offense going. My guess is Philly adds a offensive piece to their team before they add a defenseman.

Montreal I hate to say it but I think they may just sneak in. They got a goaltender who can steal games and Markov is looking great. I don't think he can keep it up but Montreal was really lacking someone like him on the back end last year, Subban is good but not nearly the same.

Grab some tissues, it will be ok.

The Hamilton comment has a lot more to do with the bi-polar fanbase than the team.

A Norris Trophy candidate? That's just great! The Kessel trade just keeps looking worse and worse good riddence Brian Burke.
Yeah, a Norris Trophy candidate because Chara says so. Good riddance to Burkie indeed.

Patrick Marleau and Joe Thornton put on a clinic. That San Jose building is rocking too, puts the ACC to shame.

Yes, but OHL arenas are small and seat a few thousand people. ACC is just a new level of pathetic with almost 20000 seats sold out every game and pin-drop silent. But of course, the team isn't exactly giving the fans anything to cheer about.

Weren't the Blues the runner-ups for the President's Trophy last year?

Key words in that Chara quote: TO DEVELOP! Kadri has all the tools to develop into a number one centre, why is no one seeing that as a lock the way mr.hamilton is supposedly going to be for the HHOF
Id still take Kessel over Seguin and Hamilton right now. The only problem for Kessel is that he seems to be most effective when playing with linemakes who create space for him physically, and no one seems capable of that now with Lupul gone.

Man Cam Ward is off to a terrible start this season.

Hasn't been very good since 2010-11 IMO.

Another prototypical Lucic fight: Cling on to opponent and turtle like a little *****; as refs move in to break it up, start to finally throw punches; trying to get a cheapshot in.

If Kessel is a perimeter player, Seguin is a step above him.

The only difference is that Kessel is a better goalscorer, and Seguin isn't afraid to take a hit. That's it.

I don't know how these boards think Seguin is a better player than Kessel. They're both perimeter players, heck Seguin plays with much better linemates and still can't produce.

For me I feel like Subban is comparable to Phaneuf. They have a lot in common and I'd be indifferent as to who was on my team.

Funny though how Subban signs 2years for 5.75 yet we're paying Paneuf 6.5mil/year. I know Subban signed a RFA contract and for only 2 years to become UFA afterward, but just reminds me how much Phaneuf is overpaid. Or even worst Komisarek.

He'll still be RFA after the two years

Yeah, I bet he'll be very excited to take 2.5M again.

Habs win round 1.

Round 2 is going to a lot tougher.
