so not sure where to put this, originally in the wait list feb tickets thread but figured i was pretty far off of topic. Bit of a horror story with TNSE/TicketMaster customer service today:

My blood pressure is rising with one of Ticket Master or true north, i'm not sure who's at fault yet.

Normally not one to gripe but has anyone had success getting ticket master to let someone other then the card holder pick up tickets?

1.i first contacted true north asking if tickets besides season tickets could be email transfered/etc if i was a waitlist account holder.

they said yes.

2. I buy tickets using my fathers credit card (on behalf of him and me)

3. no tickets in my jets account, contact True north and they say "no", ticket transfers only for season tickets.

4.They tell me we can call ticket master and give them permission for me to pick them up.

5. call ticket master, they say sure, fax us this and that and we're good.

6. fax ticket master requested documents

7. Call ticket master just to confirm it's all good and..."no. No way, no how. you can't transfer pick up for Jets tickets, the Winnipeg Jets forbid it"

So apparently The Winnipeg Jets, the same people who told me to contact Ticket Master, are the ones blocking Ticketmaster from transferring them to me. You would think there customer service reps would know of the rules they've given ticketmaster. That's ****ing ********.

In other words, if your from out of town you can't buy tickets for a local unless you have them mailed to them.

****ing brilliant. That's "saftey" seriously getting in the way of functionality.

Update:

So we talked to True North again to which their response was "that's ridiculous. see if you can pick them up and if not let us know and we'll figure this out for you"

so they are now the good guys once again!

I just heard on the radio, apparently today is Dancing Gabe's 50th birthday so be sure to wish him a belated birthday at the next home game (a week away I believe).

Does anyone ever have to fight the urge to use completely arbitrary values for players in the "Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk" board?

Every time I see a "Value of: Player X" thread I have to fight the urge to say a players' value is either a random numerical value: like 46, or his value is a certain amount of random objects: like Paul Stastny is worth 3 cornhusks, a beyblade, and a Keurig coffee maker.

Maybe it's just me though.

**** is about to hit the fan. Some big name players have been linked to a Miami based steroids lab. (Alex Rodriguez, Gio Gonzalez, Nelson Cruz, Melky Cabrera) to name a few.

Here is the article and a pretty interesting read for us baseball junkies

Just in case you haven't been keeping up, FunkyBunny is back and better than ever! NSFW Language obviously.

[MOD]

Link to his profile as the vids are profanity filled.
I can confirm from watching other videos that his child is in the same room watching as he uploads his insight.

Yeah, the link to his profile is much better. Gives you the option to choose.

He actually blurs his face out when he puts himself on camera now. Perhaps he browses hf and didn't enjoy the nightly pie debate.

I hope he is exposed for the fraud he is. There aren't many in sport I hate more than Rodriguez.

I think I might try Windows 8 out again now that I found this. My main complaint was that not having a touchscreen made it annoying to get to the menus and all that.

http://www.stardock.com/products/start8/

I created a partition for it last night and I think I'll install and try it out after work.

Been using it for almost a year and a half now, and haven't missed the start menu myself. If you hit the Windows key and start typing, you get the same (actually, better) search for docs/programs that you used to have. There are some nice shortcuts for this too:

Win+F - search for files
Win + typing - regular search (applications)
Win+Q - search for settings

To each their own though. Win 8 works well for me on my desktop and laptop, and EXTREMELY well on the laptop (when I use the touch screen) and tablet. The touch interface is just so fluid and gestural. Swipe swipe! Love it. Make an iPad feel antiquated. I've given mine away already.

I actually liked the W8 interface. Too bad my latency issues were so prohibitive.

I guess I'm just a creature of habit. I've had W7 since the pre-releases (2008 or 2009) so I guess I'm out of my comfort zone. I should've looked into shortcuts earlier! I would always go to the corner and forget I didn't have a start menu. And going into the top right corner for some other options was a pain in the butt with dual monitors.

I'll keep the shortcuts in mind but I'll still grab the Start8 thinger. Says it has the normal start menu with some W8 improvements.

And then I have to get to work on a GDT!
