I like Stu's heart and I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he'd improved defensively in the off season, but he's been making a lot of bad mistakes.
Honestly I think Stralman is very close behind Stu for worst dman thus far. Entire group has had some bad bad moments.

So that means he's playing well? What about those passes tonight?? If they led to a goal would there be a Richards Ranting Thread??
My point is Bickel is a small part of the problem, not THE problem.
All the points mean is that he's scoring points. Since they've desperately needed offense over these two games, I think that his scoring is important. The comment I was responding to was asking where Richards was offensively and I pointed out that he's got 3 points already.
I don't think Bickel is THE problem. I think he made some bad mistakes already. I think that the second goal was almost entirely on him. But the rest of the team has had a lot of problems too.
i was at the game didnt see bickel even try to land a big hit
im just saying i doubt McIlrath would be worse than Bickel. maybe some fresh blood will keep this team alert. it worked when Hags got called up last year.. Rangers need some new legs.
I had one of our most prominent and respected posters telling me how they would rather have Bickel on the bottom pair than Marc Fistric, who was just acquired for a third by Edmonton (we have three thirds this year). Wanna tell me how Bickel is better than Fistric (a proven NHL regular for five years running) again?

hopefully McILrath can be what Orpik is to the Pens. Orpik was also a first round pick.. play the same type of style...
i dont see why Sather didnt try for Fristic or some available dman. and what do the scouts see in Bickel.. he would have to go through waivers to get sent back to CT and you know the Islanders will claim him and once he is on the Islanders all of the sudden will turn into Ulf Samuelsson

So don't send him down. Put him in the press box and let him be #7. Eminger is SO superior to him. Gilroy can be sent down and if he doesn't pass waivers, big deal. If anyone wanted him, wouldn't he have been signed before his camp tryout? Not worried about losing him.
