Kassian got the best start and the best shot in. Eager dominated the rest. Pretty obvious in the video.

Had Eager gone to the box instead of the dressing room, Canucks would have scored on the following play.

Kassian has some power, but some serious lack of balance.

Kassian is a beast and is going to turn into Lucic within 3 years.
100% Canuck guarantee
What does it say about ZK if he can get knocked down by 'rabbit punches'.

Kassian did more damage but Eager clearly won the fight. Judging a fight by the shut eye\cut is like judging a hit by how many games the guy gets injured for. A big hit is a big hit .. you cant judge it by the number of broken bones.

You dont lost a fight where you land the last few punches knocking the guy down and staying on top.

How can anyone say Eager won that fight? You'd have to be a real Oiler homer. Hockeyfights.com and every non-Oiler seems to think Kassian won... Just strange to me...

Watching it again, actually I'll give the edge to Kassian. He really hammered him with that first punch. Wish we had Kassian on our team, would be perfect for top 6.

Btw, canuck fans can't call Eager a spot picker. He fights other fighters. Bieska is a much, much bigger spot picker.

This is an insane point of view.

Eager isn't even skating today, he's on listed as day-to-day on the injury list. Kassian was back on the ice in 5 minutes.

That's like saying "Well, the Canucks won that game. The Oilers scored more goals, but the Canucks had more chances, had way nicer plays, and spent more time in the offensive zone."

Kassian landed at least one blow that did enough damage that Eager is temporarily out of work. The point of a fight is to damage your opponent more than you are damaged yourself. Kassian won.

Eager isn't really a spot picker, agreed. He's a meathead, but at least he sticks his meaty head everywhere - big guys, little guys, whatever.

In fairness to Bieksa, though, his job isn't to fight. He'll drop em but it isn't a big part of his game. I don't think he's any more of a spot picker than like 80% of guys who play his style - a core guy who plays with a bit of an edge and will drop them 3 or 4 times a year.

Yea. They could have anther fight today. That is if Eager wasn't injured in that fight that was "too close to call".

Kassian was never knocked down...

Eager was destroyed in that fight. Everyone is talking about the cut but what about his nose and lip? Leaking from the left nostril, cut on the lip, badly damaged eye... The question is, did Kassian break his orbital bone? We'll know more depending on how long Eager is on IR.

There's a reason 14% of people on hockeyfights think Eager won that fight...

Well yeah, Bieksa is a top pairing dman and Eager is a 4th line enforcer. Bieksa should be picking his spots better. Look how many Oiler fans are claiming Kassian was a fool for fighting a 4th liner - and Kassian's never even been a top 9 forward in the NHL...

Wasn't always like that. Bieksa used to be fearless, I guess age plays a factor.

His role has changed too. Big difference between a guy just up from the AHL trying to stick a regular top 6 role, vs. a core top-4 vet.

Kassian won because he did more damage in 1 punch than Eager did in the hole fight. Kassian got twisted around, but Eager just threw wild punches that didn't do anything as they both fell down. Clear win for Kassian, and judging by his reaction on the way to the box, he felt he won that too.

Ouch. There could be some spray but by the looks of it Eager could have been bleeding from up to 4 different spots. No wonder he's on the day-to-day list. I hope he didn't break his orbital bone - love to hate the guy, but he's had such a bad run of luck with injuries it'd almost be unfair to be out for a while on the very first game.

Honest observer calling it a draw. I only saw one punch that did damage by ZK. Eager was chucking them at the end no matter where he was landing, but Kassians one punch did alot of damage.

Eager took off the guy playing with the Sedins. He won in that department.

Vancouvers powerplay is rated on a scale of 0-10. 0 being vs the LA Kings, and 10 being vs Ben Eager.

Based on that pic it looks like Zack tagged him at least twice.. He's bleeding from his eye and his lip from the looks of it.
