Like yeah, throwing a lot, making a big scene is what counts in a fight.

Kassian land 2 very solid punches and a halfies on another.

Eager didnt land a clean punch as far as i can tell.

This is a good fight from Kassian as Eager outweighs him by 25 pounds or so i believe.

Thats why I am not sure how soon we see eager/kassian 2. Depends where kassian is playing, he is on our 2nd line right now.

People were saying it was a stupid move for him to fight a 4th liner after scoring on the sedin line, not sure what the coach thought. If kesler and booth are back and hes back on the 4th line then we might.

What does this even mean?

You get more credit for throwing a punch than landing it?

He ran away from Hordichuk, O'Brien, and Rypien a ton of times when they were on the Canucks. The only time he went up against one of them was at the end of Rypien's shift, where he couldn't take a blow from Rypien and went down.

I've also seen him refuse to drop against Thornton and Parros.

Pretty sad considering that fighting is what his role is supposed to be.

Why are people claiming spot picking? Eager may have done it in the past, but Kassian is a large boy looking to make a name for himself. He'll go with anyone.

Well, you have to look at the entire fight in perspective.

ZK cut Eager open.
Neither one really took a huge bomb.
Eager, who is a horrible fighter, threw more bombs when Kassian couldnt get decent positioning which, in a fight on ice while wearing skates, is understandable.
Eager has a head made out of a cement, crap mixture that is relatively hard similar to eating alot of cheese, if you know what I mean.
But, Eager took Kassian off the ice for 5, and at the time was a huge drop off in talent considering Kassian was riding on the same like with the Sedins.

I consider it more of a draw considering neither one are Heavys and this isnt, say Scott/ Orr in terms of this is basicly the only thing either bring to the table to justify roster spots and more of a spur of the moment, emo situation. If Kassian really did call out Eager, he is stupid in that reguard considering Eager will drop the gloves every single time knowing he is putting a better player then himself off the ice.

So, on that note, a draw is the best conclusion, imo, of course.

Kassian definitely wins this on damage. He busted Ben up pretty good even if he landed only 2 shots. I think its pretty stupid to rip on Eager for hitting him in the back of the head. You nancy's realize these two guys are fighting right. Maybe kassian shouldnt give up his butt during a fight and try and back spoon Ben. No idea why he twisted himself around

Always been a big fan of ZK tho, I think he can become a beast

Looks like he is still throwing them before the refs get on them... that might just be me though

Wouldn't be surprised to see Eager throwing fists when someone is on the ice, positive I've seen him do that before.

Draw. Not even a great fight and certainly not worthy of a 4 page thread.

It looked like his cheek/orbital bone cracked and cut him in multiple places.

Glorious.

Yeah so a guy gets cut open, bleeds everywhere, has a swollen face and misses practice and a game, while the other fighter skates to the box with a smile and gets moved up to the first line...

And people call it a draw? How the hell are you people rating hockey fights? It's ALL about doing damage to the other guy not throwing the most punches or looking pretty.

As for the ''nobody landed any good punches'' people uhhh clearly Kassian landed at least one really good one or Eagers face wouldn't be cut and swollen.

Well im no doctor, but that's what it looks like. Kass didn't land enough punches to cut him in so many places so im guessing it was the one big punch, and the bone behind that shifted and cut him up all around the eye/cheek.

We're not talking about a guy with good intentions and morals here;

"On October 20, 2012, Eager was charged with assault, assault with bodily harm and assault with a weapon after allegedly beating up the doorman at a pub in the prestigious Rosedale neighbourhood of Toronto."

Suspended 4 games for the Colby Armstrong sucker punch, he pushes around the Sedins, if you play over the edge and you get hurt in a fair fight then it's hard for me to feel sympathy.

I would be just as happy if Marchand was in Eagers shoes; however if it was a guy like Iginla then I'd be not so happy.
Agreed if it was any other Oiler in this situation I would feel bad for them but not Eager, he has a history of cheap shots including some against the Canucks in recent years
